Brutal Legend video talks about the competition

If you're like us, you're still writhing about in agony from the last round of Brütal Legend videos unleashed upon the internet. It's okay, we had little hope things would get better -- that is, until we were handed this latest video. It's actually entirely watchable and even makes a few funny comments about the various games being released around Brütal Legend, including Assassin's Creed 2's feathered protagonist Ezio and how those night-vision goggles that come with Modern Warfare 2 aren't as awesome as slamming an axe into a demon's face. why does he talk like that? I just hope it does better than psychonauts. Remember when we all vowed to buy this game to support Schafer and EA for picking it up. Lets not let Jack Black's overabundance of enthusiasm for the game ruin it guys.

yeah the demo turned me off to the game. It wasn't too funny, plus it just doesn't play smoothly. seems a little sluggish when attacking. like he only turns to attack in 45 degree increments. idunno, I'm sure I'll eventually pick it up used. you may commence downvoting.

Ehh, hate to admit it but the demo turned me off as well. It's a great concept, but it really needs some smoother gameplay. I don't know, maybe it gets better with upgrades or something. Waiting for reviews before I pick this up.

Speaking of burn the witch and demos, I'll tell you a demo that has change my outlook on a game for the better, thats Bayonetta.

I'm digging that game and the gameplay is a lot smoother.

I'm on the same bandwagon as some of you, guys. The demo's combat wasn't that great. But I'd get it anyway just for the storytelling and its sense of style.

everything about the game is good.........except the gameplay. but thats an opinion based on the demo so thats not really fair.

hopefully the recruitment mechanic spices it up some. i found it extremely generic and derivative of typical action/adventure games. but ive yet to play the full game or its multi-player component so i withhold judgement till review day

To be fair with Schafer though he knows more about the tuck than anybody else here. He wrote a detailed post on the Uncharted half-tuck shortly after the first game released:

I think I'm gonna cancel my MW2 preorder and just pick up Left 4 Dead 2 and Brutal Legend instead now. I'm bummed out on COD for awhile.

I'm sorta getting fed up with the marketing. Give me the game already. Pre-ordered that three different times so far. If it's half as good as the demo promised I'll sit through another Jack Black in rubber arms video. But seriously, he should ACTUALLY get buff like that. Then I'd bromance him even more.

In one of the earlier videos, he says he took a bunch of steroids to get into the role. His voice deepened because of it.
