I never gave this games a chance, I remember last gen I was annoyed by
Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and Sly Cooper. Good thing all three studios moved unto Uncharted, Resistance(eh), and inFAMOUS and left those kiddie looking games aside.....well most of them

Too bad Resistance and Infamous are awful. But cmon...kiddy games? Because they have color?
The even funnier part is you likely think you're mature because you're playing Uncharted 2 instead of Jak.

I said I never gave them a real chance last gen because they look like kiddie games, I tried Ratchet and Clank this gen didn't like it, Sly Cooper I might buy if it comes, as for Jak and Daxter, I have no idea how it plays, so Im glad those studios moved to new IPs

I don't know what's worse, talking down Jak & Daxter / Ratchet & Clank / Sly Coopper or calling Infamous a bad game.
I'll go with the former.

But Infamous was awful to me, probably the worst game I've played this year. Granted, I rarely play bad games so that's why it's that high on my "didn't like" list for this year. The game was ridiculously slow (climbing buildings brick by brick got old fast), combat got repetitive and wasn't very fun, story was boring.
It guess it was more boring than actually awful, but that doesn't change how much I dislike it. At least the reason I didn't like it wasn't because it's "too kiddy" or "too grey"

It was fun at first but it got old extremely fast. By the midpoint I was burned out already.

Infamous was bad? What? It was a bit repetitive, but it was still fun.

Marius, please tell me that you've played the Metal Gear Solid games. MGS2 and 3 were some of the best games last gen.

No, I didn't play those games MGS4 was my first game in the series.
All I remember from last gen was a bunch of GTA, GOW, KH, and bunch of EA sports games, Once I discovered the Internet and got myself a PS3 I learn to be more open minded..........to what Sony puts out ;)

marius- ratchet and clank is a great game franchise IMO. hell the ps3 game was pretty long and kept me involved and im 27 years old.hell i had more fun with the game than some DRABBY shooters that have come out this gen. whats better than a game that a kid, teen, and adult can each enjoy and have fun ? its the best of both worlds, kinda like a great pixar or animated movie.... you know the ones where us adults can still enjoy the movie and we even get some mature jokes, the kids dont yet understand...
tmac- wow oh wow.... i had my rifts with resistance 2 not allowing for the same split screen co-op experience as was found in resistance 1, but both games were still great and long for a shooter.
infamous i havent played yet... i dunno.. but you might be right on the other franchises being better franchises...

Marius, you need to go buy Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection. It has the first 3 MGS games in a box for only $30. But MGS2 and 3 are on PS2 so you need to have a backwards compatible PS3 or just a PS2, of course.

No, not bad games at least. 99% of the games I play are very good because of how much research I do, and my intuition. Every now and then one bad game, like Infamous, does sneak through though. I'm not perfect :P

They talked about doing Jak PS3, but after the success of Uncharted they went with Uncharted 2 instead. Jak PS3 is still rumored to be in development.

Shadow of the Colossus was an amazing game, but it doesn't need to be remade.

ND... What what hath you done?
Just cuz the review says its not the greatest... doesn't mean it wont be. Im sure the Jak fans of the previous gen. will love it. how could they not? I mean... we dont NEED to hear the story line again, we are used to the not-so-helpful jumps, and camera angle? Well, we cant win them all right? I say we start counting our chickens or so the expression says.

You know what would have been a really cool feature? Have those studios have an unlockable alternate main character. Like have Jak as an unlockable main character in Uncharted, where you can play the game as Jak instead and hear his quips and such instead of drake, kinda like alternate dialogue. Maybe just tweak things a little to give it a different feel the second time through.
I know Playing through Resistance as Ratchet a second or third time through would keep things fresh and mix things up a bit. Same with Sly and inFamous.
It would be an easy way to extend the life of a game and make the plot worthwhile to watch on the second playthrough as you try to finish collecting everything.

God I remember the Jak games on my ps2, I don't think many games could match Jak 3, and based on what I've read about this game, its just like when Jak X came out for me :/
