I'll be there, all right. Mocking the people playing this farce.
charlie b. @ Oct 9th 2009 2:18PM
oh man, you're way too cool *rolls eyes*
Dr. Bradwart @ Oct 9th 2009 2:19PM
I'll also be eating M&M's...
Anemos @ Oct 9th 2009 2:39PM
Would you like some grape soda too?
Space @ Oct 9th 2009 2:40PM
cool, funny AND healthy. you're a triple threat!
Anemos @ Oct 9th 2009 2:46PM
I decided to look up "grape soda" in urbandictionary.com and found out that it's a racist term.
My apologies, Doctor.
GiggMan @ Oct 9th 2009 3:19PM
Why would you decide to do that of all things? No one questioned you or implied that it was racist.
Which leads me to believe you knew that all along....
Anemos @ Oct 9th 2009 8:47PM
You're right. Apologizing makes me seem like I have a heart.
We all know Joystiq readers don't have hearts.
Silly me.
URM0MLIK3SME @ Oct 9th 2009 2:19PM
But I want to embarrass myself...
rufotattoo @ Oct 9th 2009 2:21PM
best buy have it on to play i my self didnt like it one bit... boston ma
shadow763 @ Oct 9th 2009 2:26PM
Mine had it as well. An employee was sitting there playing it so I didn't get a chance. Nice way to let consumers try it. Grrr.
gordo @ Oct 9th 2009 2:52PM
An older couple almost tried it at the Best Buy near with.
Then with confused smiles, they walked away.
gordo @ Oct 9th 2009 2:54PM
ahem...near *me*
Reddrive @ Oct 9th 2009 3:53PM
Best Buy in Gainesville, FL has it set up. I passed
Husher @ Oct 9th 2009 4:21PM
switching from left to right with the fader was very difficult for me.
Jim @ Oct 9th 2009 8:09PM
I played it at the Best Buy in Borth Ridgeville, OH. Wasn't really feeling it, but it could be worse.
Annoying Poster @ Oct 9th 2009 2:21PM
this game is so retarded, nobody even wants to play it
at some point, even the retards who mindlessly buy every guitar hero realize that theyre getting ripped off.
Orion @ Oct 9th 2009 3:46PM
It may come as a surprise to you, but music games can be fun. Don't let games like Guitar Hero fool you. This will probably be milked, but I'm 8000x more excited about this than any "band/guitar" title in the last 5 years.
Maulok @ Oct 9th 2009 2:22PM
If this sells more copies than Beatles Rock Band, I will lose all faith in humanity.
Anemos @ Oct 9th 2009 2:38PM
If humanity loses all faith, then this game will sell more than The Beatles Rock Band.
Space @ Oct 9th 2009 2:48PM
You sound like an old man. It's ok to embrace new ideas.
I for one hope they release the Beatles/Jay-Z Grey album as DLC.
charlie b. @ Oct 9th 2009 3:01PM
@space
you know what? that's actually an awesome idea.
Shagittarius @ Oct 9th 2009 3:22PM
Yeah Maulok, embrace the talentless slog that is a blight on the earth, and throw out all of your truely great musical accomplishments.
Maulok @ Oct 9th 2009 3:28PM
mop top Brits > hoodie wearing 'bags
Unit @ Oct 9th 2009 3:49PM
guitar hero sold more than beatles rockband in the UK. all humanity is lost lolz
Space @ Oct 9th 2009 9:28PM
The beatles are great as are all of the other classic bands of the 60's and 70's. but damn, you'll become a boring, irrelevant, old man if you never move forward with the times.
Mal F4cti0n @ Oct 9th 2009 2:24PM
I watched a 16 year old kid (I am 32) play it at Best Buy on Wednesday. He played through 3 songs before he let me have a go at one. He said it was addicting and, damn, was he right. I didn't want to stop playing. Your scratching and switching channels is heard as the song plays and it makes a big difference in the song when you miss things versus when you perform them correctly.
I think the price for the game and controller is a little pricey. I will probably wait for the first or second price drop, but I definitely want this one. I don't own guitar hero. I got sick of that after a couple of songs, so for someone who does not play the music games, this is a big deal.
I think this will sell well.
I upped my stake on TheSimExchange.com by about 500% after I played the demo.
deadxbabiesxinc @ Oct 9th 2009 2:25PM
BEST BUY already had the demo since I think this past Monday. Surprised they didn't make it a bigger deal considering they got the demo before GameStop
Dr. Bradwart @ Oct 9th 2009 2:26PM
Because they know its a turd with an Activision logo on it.
Orion @ Oct 9th 2009 3:46PM
This coming from an LG fanboy? Oh yea, we should all trust you.
Mal F4cti0n @ Oct 9th 2009 2:25PM
Prepare to lose faith.
Preparing to lose faith.
Faith lost.
TTSP @ Oct 9th 2009 2:28PM
I've already played it at Best Buy
jynxycat @ Oct 9th 2009 6:55PM
YOU'RE AWESOME!
Teabag @ Oct 9th 2009 2:28PM
DJ Hero was present for hands-on at GAMES 09 (Games Alliance Middle East Show, an E3 equivalent for the Middle East). You can check a local DJ playing it here:
http://megamers.tbreak.com/5407/blog/dany-neville-plays-dj-hero.html
I had tried the demo. I think it's going to be a hit. It's fun to use. Simple but a steep curve to master it. The peripheral is bit plasticy, almost too cheap, especially the crossfader switch.I seriously do not believe it will last hard endurance. But the game does sound pretty good. It might click with the audience.
Shimrra @ Oct 9th 2009 2:36PM
My local Best Buy already has one on display to play with and you know what its not that bad. The music is pretty cool only complaint is the whole setup just to have mid waist. I can see this being a big pain in the but if you try and play the scratch pad on your lap.
Akronon @ Oct 9th 2009 4:27PM
"I told, you, stop hittin the table!"
Every DJ has waist-high tables for their turntables. Waist-high is where this stuff is supposed to be. You're right, I don't know how people will play this without having a specific table set up for it in front of their TV. Maybe it comes with stand. Regardless, I know I'd break the crossfader in no time.
Also - can you hamster the fader?
No hamster = no buy for me. (Hahahahahahahhaha. Itz forum gamer joke. Get it?)
zentheoutcast @ Oct 9th 2009 2:42PM
I work at Best Buy and we've had a demo playable in-store for about a week now. I suggest people go try it there, there is usually no wait to play.
James @ Oct 9th 2009 4:21PM
Hmm... I wonder why...
XD
Hoffer @ Oct 9th 2009 2:43PM
I don't care about the haters. I'm looking forward to this game. Played the demo at Best Buy and it was really good.
I love people talking crap about a game they've never played. It's like the definition of an internet commenter.
GiggMan @ Oct 9th 2009 2:51PM
For all the people who are not going to buy it, don't.
The gaming community is the only other community that actually gives a fuck what other people buy. I could care less who buys what it's not my money. If it sells well so be it, I'm not loosing faith in humanity (or sleep at night for that matter).
You all need to grow the hell up and spend your money (allowance?) on whatever appeals to you and let others do the same.
jynxycat @ Oct 9th 2009 6:55PM
lolwut?
MonkeyMan @ Oct 9th 2009 3:01PM
You can play it now at best buy.. we have the demo set up.. put it up 2 days ago.. it can be fun but its way harder than i thought it would be
jynxycat @ Oct 9th 2009 6:56PM
LIKE 100 OTHER PEOPLE MENTIONED THIS.
MonkeyMan @ Oct 10th 2009 2:08PM
i didnt have time to read all the comments man, calm
MC Ownage @ Oct 9th 2009 3:08PM
I played this at best buy in Chicago. The thing does not feel even close to realistic and is too flimsy and plastic like.
Jason Statham (Has a ps3 now) @ Oct 9th 2009 3:54PM
Because Guitar Hero/Rock Band are totally known for their realism.
Shagittarius @ Oct 9th 2009 3:19PM
I'd rather be raped by a syphilitic rhino.
Bluko @ Oct 9th 2009 3:43PM
It doesn't seem like that bad of a game. It baffles me how angry people get over stuff like this. I agree that it would be cooler if people actually learned these instruments, but until then we can live the fantasy!
damien2487 @ Oct 9th 2009 3:41PM
you can play dj hero at best buy right now
jynxycat @ Oct 9th 2009 6:57PM
