Project Runway game announced

Variety has revealed that Atari plans to publish a game based on the Project Runway reality show. Set to debut in 2010, the game will feature host Heidi Klum and the ever prim and proper Tim Gunn, though the extent of their involvement is still under wraps. Here's hoping Gunn will lend his delightful vocal cadence to the project.The game has players taking a turn behind the virtual sewing machine, tasking them with designing fashions and properly outfitting models with hair and makeup. Once that's done, players sashay down the catwalk as the models themselves. The game will utilize the Balance Board, so there's a likely chance the previous sentence could be taken literally.

Nice to see that the show is expanding, but this is the wrong market. I'd think a soundtrack, or book would be a better way to go (Queer Eye For the Straight Guy did a very similar thing in it's hayday)

I love Project Runway, but I don't know if it will translate well to video game form. However, if there's a Tim Gunn minigame, I'm sooooooooooooooooo buying it.

Do you think that these crappy games could just be a way for the TV/Movie franchises that make them to launder/embezzle money? I mean, this game obviously is not even going to come close to breaking even. It will be an epic fail. The people making it must know it.
So I wonder, do the head people involved in the show put $10M into the "development of the game" and behind the scenes steal $1-$3M for themselves?

OK, like most third party games for the Wii, it has the potential to suck. Badly. Especially being a movie / television show tie in. But still, as a fan of the Project Runway series, I'll put it on the "one to watch" list. I would imagine it'll have a bit of a "Cooking Mama" feel to a good portion of it (e.g. "to cut your fabric, press A and B repeatedly while thrusting the remote at the screen").
I wonder if they'll get Nina Garcia and Michael Kors to contribute to the game, too.

Wow. The Anti-Nintendo Task Force is out in droves on this post. I mean, I know shovelware has gotten ridiculously out of hand on Wii, and if that's all they were saying I wouldn't so much mind, but why is there so much "Eff Nintendo" on a game they don't have any hand in making?
And although no article is apparently complete without at least some mention somewhere of someone selling a Wii, it just seems idiotic to sell it over the /release. of a new third party game. It's just another option. It may be a piece of s*** option, but it's still an option and therefore not mandatory that you make the purchase. Now, you could make the argument that there's no interesting games on Wii, with which I'd disagree, but it's not as if this game coming out means there are now fewer interesting games, so, by all means, sell your Wii if you don't like it, but the relevance of that post to this topic is in serious question. . . .
