Rock Band Weekly: Brutal Legend pack, Black Tide, Blink-182, Satriani, Kansas, L7
Corporate synergy is well at work when the Brütal Legend pack rolls its way into next week's Rock Band DLC update. The track grouping includes Mötorhead, Tenacious D and Testament. To wash all that metal down, there are also individual songs from Kansas and Blink 182. For those upset by all of this: you can pull a "Jeremy" in front of the class*, which joins Unplugged next week.
*Yeah, don't do that.

Whoa. Great pack! More Tenacious D? Motorhead AND Testament? The singles are awesome too, definately picking up Satriani. Whoa. And Queen the week after. Harmonix wants me to go bankrupt!
Number_Zero @ Oct 9th 2009 10:48AM
Hell yes. The only way that Brutal Legend pack could have been better is if it included Deadly Sinners and was a 4-pack.
dark_inchworm (stronger than never, ever before) @ Oct 9th 2009 11:52AM
Hell, just give us every Brutal Legend song. Maybe not *every* song, ok, but there are several that would tickle my fancy.
RotNRollHunter @ Oct 9th 2009 12:21PM
"Enemies of Metal Your Death Is Our Reward!" 3IOB All F'n Day!

Where's Murmaider?
Torque_AOD @ Oct 9th 2009 1:38PM
@Alton Brown: What about HatredKopter?
MowDownJoe @ Oct 9th 2009 10:49AM
Activision tried to kill The Metal, but...
Ahh, screw it. We've milked this joke to hell. Still, nice to see some Satch. Now how about some Chickenfoot?
The Pirate @ Oct 9th 2009 10:52AM
KICKASS! Ive been waiting for The Metal and Satch Boogie for AGES! This is pure win. *checks PSN wallet*...SHIT i only have £1 left! Time to add some more!
Oshi @ Oct 9th 2009 10:54AM
>>"Surfing with the Alien"
YES.
Tom Boucher @ Oct 9th 2009 3:05PM
yes, that is what I screamed when I saw that too.
Summer Song and Motorcycle Driving would be awesome as well.
Jenks @ Oct 9th 2009 10:57AM
The Metal! Now I have one less reason to pull my GH3 disc out.
Dr. Bradwart @ Oct 9th 2009 10:58AM
So...they put Kansas on here and don't include "A Horse with No Name"?
Unless it's already on there, I cry FAIL!
sqwarlock @ Oct 9th 2009 11:05AM
You cry fail? No, sir, I cry fail.
A Horse With No Name is by America, not Kansas. If you're gonna make a post like that, at least make sure it's accurate.
Robbie @ Oct 9th 2009 11:06AM
Uh dude, that's America, not Kansas.
tifosiotaku @ Oct 9th 2009 11:07AM
"A Horse With No Name" wasn't Kansas, that was America, dude.
America is the name of the band, btw.
Dr. Bradwart @ Oct 9th 2009 11:09AM
I shouldn't make posts when I'm half asleep.
"Carry On My Wayward Son" would be more appropriate.
Randy @ Oct 9th 2009 11:14AM
"Carry On Wayward Son" is a disc song on Rock Band 2.
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Oct 9th 2009 11:16AM
Carry On My Wayward Son is already on the Rock Band 2 disc.
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Oct 9th 2009 11:22AM
ECHO... Echo... echo...
Woz @ Oct 9th 2009 11:38AM
"So...they put Kansas on here and don't include "Dust in the Wind"?
Fixed
Nicknin10do @ Oct 9th 2009 12:20PM
"I shouldn't make posts when I'm half asleep."
maybe you should just stop making posts then.
Demaar @ Oct 9th 2009 10:59AM
Pretty awesome selection. Reckon I'll get the Brutal Legend pack and the L7 track (though there are a lot of others I'd prefer, still great they added another). Might get the Blacktide song too, the other two were pretty sweet. Maybe Blink 182 as well. Oh hell, I'll probably end up buying all of these :P
AvA (ice~) @ Oct 9th 2009 11:11AM
of all the blink-182 songs...why Whats My Age lol, they should pick old school blink stuff like "Wasting Time" or something that's actually fun on guitar :P dam the hits....dam them to hell
ridv34 @ Oct 9th 2009 11:34AM
"Damn the hits" says the guy with AVA in his username. Irony or mere coincidence...
Bane @ Oct 9th 2009 11:38AM
Blink 182 has hits? I thought they were just another one hit poprock band with no talent.
Oh well. They need some Pantera. Although I am glad to see Testament get a track in the game.
Eh @ Oct 9th 2009 11:54AM
One hit? they had a lot of pop hits and wouldnt go away for a few years like Limp Bizkit.
Mikeymike @ Oct 9th 2009 1:11PM
I never wanna act my age!
what's my age again!?
what's my age again?!
AvA (ice~) @ Oct 12th 2009 12:20AM
@ridv24 Oh gee an attempt to bash angels & airwaves who has like 1 hit!!!!!!!!!! nice try -_-
linebeginstoblur @ Oct 9th 2009 11:15AM
"Show Me the Way"? Finally! It's on the Unplugged disc and I'd never heard it before, but when I did, I was pleasantly surprised, and I've been wanting to play it with the plastic instruments, so this is nice :)
Tom Whitaker @ Oct 9th 2009 11:17AM
"...you can pull a "Jeremy" in front of the class..."
Oh lord.
Ad134 @ Oct 9th 2009 11:25AM
The 'stiq has been very controversial lately, especially with that Jeremy remark.
Love it.
polledchild @ Oct 9th 2009 11:31AM
FINALLY! More Kansas!
Guitar Hero @ Oct 9th 2009 11:36AM
I would sell my left testicle to get this DLC. Wait...is there any sperm donations center close to here?
*goes check*
Gordo @ Oct 9th 2009 11:46AM
More Kansas is nice, but they're live tracks. Would've preferred the studio cuts. Oh well...
tmacairjordan87 @ Oct 9th 2009 11:50AM
That's not a bad Testament song considering it came out last year, and they haven't really been all that good since their thrash days. Definitely gonna get that at the very least.
Kizzle @ Oct 9th 2009 1:46PM
You shut your whore mouth. Everything since Demonic has blown away their earlier stuff. Not that they weren't good early on, but their earlier albums are closer to just being generic Bay Area Metal clones. The more recent stuff transcends that easily.
B3astofthe3ast @ Oct 9th 2009 11:54AM
Holy shit! Surfing with the alien and satch boogie should be very difficult, going by the GH charts. Good to see more awesome instrumentals in rock band. Between this, uncharted 2, and brutal legend, I'm not sure what to do with myself!
Woz @ Oct 9th 2009 11:56AM
I'm down for some Satriani. Probably gonna be really difficult on guitar. Since they can do songs that have no singers, how about Kansas Dust in the Wind which would exclude the drummer.
amilcar @ Oct 9th 2009 12:06PM
No dust in the wind :(
ChainsawOctopus @ Oct 9th 2009 4:39PM
Unfortunately, we'll never see "Dust in the Wind" in Rock Band because there are no drums in that song.
Bobby Kotick 2: Echoes @ Oct 9th 2009 11:07PM
There were no drums in The End by Pearl Jam, and there might as well not be any on Nirvana's song Polly.
And on a slightly unrelated note, did Transformers come to anyone else's mind when reading this?
NeoK-182 @ Oct 9th 2009 12:15PM
man awesome fucking week here.
Hey harmonix, please go steal blink-182's first date from guitar hero as well. then i'm set! lol
Martin @ Oct 9th 2009 12:34PM
I'll be grabbing The Metal, Show Me The Way and Surfing with the Alien. Hopefully they grab the other two guitar virtuoso tracks from GH3, Soothsayer by Buckethead (and GHII's Jordan, while we're at it) and For the Love of God by Steve Vai.
Matt @ Oct 9th 2009 12:41PM
I love Tenacious D, but I'm a bit disappointed that they chose "The Metal", I can just play it in GH3. And after seeing how hard Satch Boogie was in GHWT, I cannot even begin to imagine what it's gonna be like without a slider bar in RB.
drew @ Oct 9th 2009 1:15PM
NEED MORE POINTS. UGH!
Torque_AOD @ Oct 9th 2009 1:36PM
I gotta have more Cowbell!!!!
But Tenacious D is fine too.
DominicanRocker1955 @ Oct 9th 2009 2:06PM
This is so appropriate.

Spike (GT: SitriStahl) @ Oct 9th 2009 2:59PM
i'll get the brutal legend pack, and maybe satch boogie, i need to save my points for at least 2 queen tracks on the 20th
lee williamson @ Oct 9th 2009 3:57PM
DAMN this always happens when i have no creds looks like im gonna be gettin quite a few of these Tenacious D – The Metal for definate though may have to see vids of the others :)
MaxShrek @ Oct 9th 2009 4:08PM
L7? Does it come with a Donita Sparks lady's utensil download?
