Time to start waiting for White Knight Chronicles 2

Ha! You guys are still waiting for White Knight Chronicles? That's old news, folks. It's time to get hyped about its sequel. Unofficially titled "White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness" (according to Andriasang), the sequel takes place immediately after the events of the first game. Leonard and his allies return to a world in chaos, with the City of Greed, the Kingdom of Barandel, and the Magic Republic of Foria all in trouble.

You'll create another avatar to join Leonard on his quest, and this time you'll be able to transform (a power unavailable in the first game). In addition to the requisite new areas, monsters, equipment and skills, White Knight Chronicles 2 will also feature a brand new female knight, and the ability to have six characters in your party.

SCE didn't reveal when the second White Knight game would hit Japan, but we do know this: English-speaking fans shouldn't expect to it see any time soon.

Reviews are showing Demon's Souls to be an incredible hold over at least... But yea, apparently White Knight Chronicles, Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean 4 (hopefully improved), and Tales of Vesperia all coming to PS3 next year.

whoa if thats right 2010 is looking to be the year of little exercise for some of us...
Four 50-100+ Hour RPG's then God of War, MAG, etc...
2009 - 2010 ps3 gaming is starting to remind me of how much time i spent playing my 360 in 2007-2008

and it would be nice to get the 1st game here in the states... geez...a lot of RPG fan talk about this game... hopefully they are not going to work on the 2nd game first ?

Yeah demon souls just owned it. It reminds me of Shadow Of Colossus with not much hype or ads or anything and it ends up to be just a great game. GO TEAM JAPAN! need more japanese exclusive like this!

no problem at all with the waiting, the first one will ease it, plus demons soul and FF13 i dont even know if ill be ready to play another rog by then...

there's some great japanese games coming over to US on ps3 that don't scream Square Enix. might give this and demons souls a look.

Yet another androgynous tween protagonist. Sigh. People say Western developers are mired in the angrily grunting bald space marine morass, and you can't really argue that, but at least they chose to focus on one end of the gender spectrum!

That aside, combat looks solid and the story sounds interesting, so I'm looking forward to checking this out when it hits NA soil.

This infuriates me so much. It feels like such a slap to the face of potential western fans. The more I hear about the second, the less I care about the first. The less I care about the first, the less I care to care about the second.

Wow, it's like you're trapped in some sort of bizarre Zeno's paradox of ennui.

Really, though, I don't know why the idea that there will be a sequel detracts from the original. To take an example, it's still worth playing Uncharted even though Uncharted 2 is (likely) even better.

Honestly though joystiq, why in the blue hell is this news for anywhere else other than Japan? Seriously....this and Yakuza 4 doesn't need to be headline news out of Japan until the rest of the world gets the current titles that are out first, to be excited for a sequal. To think this is not common sense, puzzles me.
