Resistance 3 billboard appears way ahead of its time
123
A keen-eyed NeoGAF user by the name of goldsoundz noticed a startling billboard in his home town of Shreveport, Louisiana -- splayed out on the massive overhead placard is the logo for the heretofore unannounced next installment in Insomniac Games' PS3 shooter franchise, Resistance 3. Goldsoundz explained that Shreveport is a popular spot for film shoots, and that the ad was to be incorporated in a film titled Battle: Los Angeles, which is due out in early 2011.
By that timeline, it makes sense that Insomniac could slap another game together by the film's theatrical debut -- still, seeing gargantuan promotions for a game that hasn't been formally announced (or discussed) is a bit surprising. Certainly more surprising than a potential announcement for Resistance 3, because, come on, of course there's gonna be a Resistance 3.

It wouldn't happen to be the one that involved Rage Against the Machine, would it?

Thats the title of a video game not the movie being shot...there is a statue of liberty because its symbolism for freedom and you would know what happened to that freedom if you played Resistance 2...

dude, the game came out last year. spoilers are free game after a year. but i am sorry for spoiling it for you. and for everyone else, there's a ton of spoilers after this, so don't say i didn't warn you this time.
@night elve
yeah, it's been a while since i played it, but i do remember most of america being wiped out, and they said that america was the last safe place, so that means the rest of the world got taken down too.
and i distinctly remember hale's "death". i guess capelli is still around to take his place though. hale probably isn't fully dead though.
and daedalus is *probably* dead, and he was controlling the chimeran invasion. i guess now it's the human remnant taking on the chimera and/or the cloven? because earth is in some other place after the fission bomb.

cool. i love the Resistance franchise. i kind of hope they do a prequel with the next one though since i loved the first one but feel like they changed a little too much in the second. the first one with the technical features of the second would be awesome.

No you. It's at least a rent man. Resistance 2 got great reviews, it's got a great on line multiplayer and innovative ideas, like 60 players multi (I might be wrong but, I've never seen that on a console). I like massive hordes coming at you, and killing them with new weapons and your team VS swarms of chimara. Resistance ftw! I know a lot of people don't like it BUT I'm one of the few here left that still loves it and still enjoys the multi, besides RFOM was my first game on my PS3 so it'll be great to follow the series.

As far as the single player campaign goes, I also prefer the first one. It simply has a better map layout. Also I thought it was annoying having those very generic soldier-allies tagging along for most of R2.
But i haven't gotten to the co-op part yet and I hear that's the best part of R2.

Oh don't misunderstand me, I own both games. I like them, but the single-player campaign on the first one is worlds better than the second. The story feels deeper and it has its style on the way it's told. The second one was just plain, lots of generic soldiers along with you, Hale turned into some baddass testosterone-loaded hero.... The co-op is the saving grace of that game for me, but the first one is still my favorite (plus, you can play the single player campaign with a friend on RFOM, not possible on R2).

I'm all for it just as long as the story resembles Fall Of Man and the multiplayer plays like the Resistance 2.

Sorry, I meant to say, "To tell the truth, I was somewhat disappointed with Resistance 2, but part 3 might be better." I hope it comes out soon.

I have to co-sign, here. I absolutely LOVED the first Resistance and I was glad I took a chance on getting that prior to the day I first bought my PS3...but then the second one, which I got on release day, sorta didn't "feel the same". Maybe it was the euphoria of "FINALLY" getting my PS3 back in 07 that made Resistance so special for me, as well as Motorstom but then again, I also had the dreadful Madden 08, All Pro Football 2K8 and a "tired" NBA Street: Homecourt to counterbalance those great games.
I've actually been meaning to replay Resistance 2 to see if it feels different, this time. Maybe later this week...but Unchartered 2 comes out Tues...plus I'm enjoying my other new shiny sports games that are great. I'll see
Anyway, I look forward to Resistance 3, though. There should be no excuse for a lackluster game when games like Unchartered 2 is looking to technically blow the doors off any console game before it. Not to mention, the story needs to be more engaging, like Unchartered.
Let's GO, Insomniac.I know what you can do...

Resistance 1 was WAY more harder than Resistance 2. Playing on the second to last difficulty on Resistance 1 was very frustrating and I was shocked whoever finished the game on the hardest difficulty

I don't know why you have to worry about that. All the Halo games had the same font, same with all the Spiderman movies.
