Infinity Ward sets sights on Modern Warfare 2 Avatar items
21
With most street savvy gamers expecting Modern Warfare 2 to be one of the biggest -- if not the biggest -- releases of 2009, it's not too surprising to learn that Infinity Ward has Avatar items in the works. According to IW's fourzerotwo, AKA community guru Robert Bowlling, the company is preparing some items for Xbox 360 Avatars, adding that some of them will "hopefully" be free. On the same subject, Bowling notes that he's "not sure" whether the game will include any unlockable Avatar Awards. That's unfortunate, as we've yet to see a single game use the Avatar Awards feature -- even the those that have been confirmed to support it.

game developer #1: "hey we should include some of those avatar awards in our game to reward gamers as they progress through the game, similar to achievements."
game developer #2: "that is great idea. it would give added value to our from the consumer's standpoint. or at least those consumers who actually care about their avatar."
microsoft: "why give avatar awards away for free when you charge for them on our avatar marketplace? everybody wins except for the consumer who has to pay money for a digital shirt for their digital character."
game developer #1: "that is a good point. 4 dollars it is for a shirt!"

Can you really blame them for wanting to make more money? While I will not be buying it I am sure there are plenty of suckers, I mean fans, that would like this.

I plan on buying Infinity ward in the next 3 days and shutting down this god damn game. That'll be the end to you meddling kids.
On a serious note. I think maybe you should put away about $800. While you're at it why dont you buy a dildo and jam it up your ass cause you're fucking dumb for buying all this unless you dont already have a 360.

I bought the Forza 3 helmet and will be picking up the racing suit when I get around to buying another points card. I will also be decking my avatar out in MW2 gear when it gets released.
I'm down for micro-transactions that support the developer, anyhting to get more money flowing to them to encourage map packs/DLC.

coo. i hope they dont do a simple logo tshirt and move on.. some bdus or even a ghillie suit would be pretty cool. i hope microsoft makes unlockables/awards standard like achievements, require at least 1 or 2 per every game..
