Left 4 Dead 2 Achievements confirm final campaigns, detail new features [update]
The Achievement aficionados over at Xbox360Achievments.org have uncovered the Xbox 360 Achievements for Left 4 Dead 2. The Achievements offer some insane challenges -- "Survive a campaign on Expert skill with Realism mode enabled" -- and, if accurate, also confirm the recently uncovered "Dead Center" and "Hard Rain" campaigns. The Achievements also detail some new features and confirm other rumored features, most notably a defibrillator which can be used to revive teammates. Also mentioned is an adrenaline power-up to boost speed, deployable ammo upgrades and ... a bile bomb. We really hope that last one does what we think it does.
Head over to X360A for the full list (warning: watch for spoilers ... and Tanks).
Update: A Valve representative has confirmed the veracity of the two posters as official, saying simply, "They're legit."

Somehow...they manage to make their posters cooler and cooler. My favorite is the Carnival poster, "You Must Be This Tall...TO DIE!"
This game keeps looking better.
Wes @ Oct 12th 2009 6:44PM
I agree. I'm also liking the looks of some of the campaigns for this 'episode'. The marketplace level looks like a lot of fun.
I'd rather play on a shopping-mall, save yourself from zombie hordes level than the airplane/airport level.
Einhanderkiller @ Oct 12th 2009 6:58PM
The "You Must Be This Tall...TO DIE!" subtitle was actually from a post on the SteamPowered forums. I guess Valve liked it.
Sly @ Oct 12th 2009 7:11PM
wes, malls are overdone. i'd like to see a rec center or a superstore like walmart/target. those places would be awesome to fight zombies in.
Konrad @ Oct 12th 2009 6:09PM
I see a large boost in my gamerscore coming the week of November 17th.
Obie @ Oct 12th 2009 7:17PM
"We got points over here!"
sonicspike41 @ Oct 12th 2009 7:34PM
I hate hospitals, and doctors, and cops, and lawyers, and vans, and planes, and the woods, and tunnels, and subways, and sewers, and elevators, and stairs, and helicopters, and train yards, and small towns, and Ayn Rand. Aw hell... I hate the water!
You know what I don't hate? I don't hate achievement points.
RobinEivets (Soon to be Crimsic) @ Oct 12th 2009 6:10PM
Hey buddy, this game gets me excited too, but I wouldn't say it...oh...you're GAMERSCORE...nevermind then, carry on.
Shadow Hog @ Oct 12th 2009 6:11PM
They reused "Rode Hard, Put Away Wet". Except this L4D2 version has significantly less in the ways of jars of piss.
Mr.ESC @ Oct 12th 2009 6:24PM
Acid reflex from Half life 2:Episode 2 also makes an appearance.
Durden @ Oct 12th 2009 6:11PM
I'm very pumped for this game. I hope it sales well with all the competition it will have. If not, oh well. More zombies for me!
Dr. Bradwart [100% Reagan Conservative!] @ Oct 12th 2009 6:16PM
Competition? You mean there are games still coming out in 2009? Really?
Besides Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age and AC II, there really isn't anything else. This'll do fine.
Blank-Mage @ Oct 12th 2009 6:14PM
Somehow, I don't feel 'Realism Mode' is going to see much use.
Shadow Hog @ Oct 12th 2009 6:17PM
Knowing how people like to make themselves out to be better than they actually are at various games, playing difficulties that they can just barely scratch by on, I expect it to get PLENTY of use.
Mr.ESC @ Oct 12th 2009 6:22PM
Normally, some people just play in those difficulties for the achievements alone. For example Call of Duty:woprñd at war Co-op mode in Veteran is almost empty.
Dr. Bradwart [100% Reagan Conservative!] @ Oct 12th 2009 6:30PM
I'll admit to playing on a higher difficulty for achievements. Normally, I play Halo on Heroic, but I always make a Legendary run through to unlock the achievement. Same thing with other titles.
Mr.ESC @ Oct 12th 2009 6:23PM
Weird but am I the only one who finds these achievements easier than the ones in the original?
Shadow Hog @ Oct 12th 2009 7:08PM
No, they seem pretty basic in comparison to some of the ones I've seen in L4D.
No "kill 53,000+ zombies" achievement, for instance.
The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] @ Oct 12th 2009 6:25PM
Thank God there's no 50,000+ kills achievement again.
Blank-Mage @ Oct 12th 2009 6:29PM
I didn't mind that one, actually. Just a matter of time.
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Oct 12th 2009 6:51PM
Damn. I loved that nod to Dead Rising. Oh well, maybe in Left 4 Dead 3 there will be a response to Dead Rising 2.
Einhanderkiller @ Oct 12th 2009 7:01PM
I'm sad that that achievement is gone.
I think that achievements should make you feel like you've actually achieved something.
The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] @ Oct 12th 2009 9:05PM
yeah but if they're that level of work and dedication they should be more than 20 points.
Mr.ESC @ Oct 13th 2009 12:05AM
It worked in Dead Rising because you could get it in 2 hours.
In the case of well, every other game with a "Kill X amount" achievement I get sick of those games before even reaching the half.
Torque_AOD @ Oct 12th 2009 6:59PM
I was hoping there was an achievement where in versus or Scavenge. A boomer would have to vomit on 2 survivors and a spitter spits at the other 2 survivors at the same time.
I would've called it. "Oh That's Nasty or "Divide and Conquer"
Spartan [Planeteer | Power of Sunshine & Lollipops] @ Oct 12th 2009 7:01PM
Tank burger.
LMFAO!!! thats the very first one I'm going for.
RobLink (Alex Kidd incarnate) @ Oct 12th 2009 7:06PM
Good luck with that. It looks to be one of the more challenging ones.
Spartan [Planeteer | Power of Sunshine & Lollipops] @ Oct 12th 2009 7:16PM
I melee the tank all the time (Never killed it mind you)
but now I'll get recognition for it.
Obie @ Oct 12th 2009 7:21PM
Grabs frying pan.....*TONK*
Achievement Unlocked
:-3
Smoke_me_a_Kipper @ Oct 12th 2009 7:15PM
LOL they brought back the Gnome from HL2.
GUARDIN' GNOME
Torque_AOD @ Oct 12th 2009 7:16PM
Hold on, Is there any more uncommon infected?
After all we have the SWAT, Haz-Mat, Swamp, and Clown infected.
Obie @ Oct 12th 2009 7:24PM
Holy CRAP! They brought back the gnome!
The "little space man" achievement was one of the most challenging/ fun achievements of mine in Half Life Episode 2.
Now I get to carry that little bastard through a whole campaign..lol
Saria the Cat @ Oct 12th 2009 7:25PM
MOAR EXCITEMENT!!! :D
Though I still have yet to get the Cr0wned achievement, though I've tried many times. Am I a failure?
Obie @ Oct 12th 2009 7:27PM
Easy, walk up *behind* a witch with the auto shotting, aim for the top of her head...let er rip! :D
Obie @ Oct 12th 2009 7:28PM
*auto shotty*...damn iPhone
Saria the Cat @ Oct 12th 2009 7:31PM
I've totally done that shiz but for some reason it never works for me. I think someone needs to come over and help me because I must be doin' it wrong.
And I also hate iPhone/iPod spelling auto-correct. Actually I just hate typing on that thing in general, not that a normal phone is any better.
Neuromancer @ Oct 12th 2009 7:47PM
I never got it either. I gave up after about a thousand tries.
Smoke_me_a_Kipper @ Oct 12th 2009 7:58PM
It's hard, but you wait til she just gets up a bit and empty the gun into her head. Autoshotty is the best way. I tried and tried to get this, but then one day I just didn't try for the achievement, the damn witch was in the doorway. BOOM headshot.
Shadow Hog @ Oct 12th 2009 9:11PM
I guess I got lucky with that one. We were playing on Normal or Advanced, I forget which, I spy a Witch between the safe room and the rooftop finale of No Mercy, and being the naive git I was, I just ran up to her and shot her. Boom, CR0WN'D.
Of course, SINCE then I've realized just how much shit a Witch can do, and haven't been so stupid as to deliberately confront one. Beginner's luck, I guess.
CrabBattle @ Oct 12th 2009 9:39PM
You dont even need to slowly walk towards her, you can run behind her and just shoot (with the 2nd shotgun). All you need to to is 1) shoot when you're VERY close to her, almost touching 2) try to hit the head as much as you can. Aim is vital.
You'll be doing this a lot once you get the hang of it
Spartan [Planeteer | Power of Sunshine & Lollipops] @ Oct 13th 2009 3:21AM
Sneak up lights off, wait till she starts to rise, shoot then melee.
Now hitting 20 people with cars in crsh course, THAT'S gona take a while.
Unless you guy wana meet up in the crash course finale and just stand there until each of us gets it? Tag: Istari Spartan
The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] @ Oct 13th 2009 7:31AM
you have to wait right until she turns around, as soon as you sneak up to her, make sure her back still faces you, but then shell turn her head around her shoulder to look at you, then you blow her face off. You shouldnt need to unload the whole gun, 1 shot usually does it
XBL: xGeneral DEATHx PSN: Deeth82 [Planeteer | Power of General Hostility and Angst] @ Oct 13th 2009 8:00AM
It's tough, I just got that 'cheevo the other night...go up behind her...as she starts to get up, wait until just at the moment of truth before she attacks and blast her with a shotgun. Note: You don't have to use the auto-shotty, but it sure does help if you screw up and she comes after you. :)
Tep @ Oct 12th 2009 7:30PM
It's still just Counter Strike Source with Zomibes in my opinion...
sicsided @ Oct 12th 2009 9:55PM
and how is that bad? I like CS and I like zombies. Its like not having jelly with your peanut butter, you just have a dry mouth at the end.
Shadow Hog @ Oct 12th 2009 11:13PM
But I LIKE Peanut Butter without Jelly sandwiches :(
Also I don't really like CS:S, but I quite like L4D. They've got their similarities, but when all's said and done, they're very different games.
Neuromancer @ Oct 12th 2009 7:48PM
For some reason these don't seem as clever or interesting the 2nd time around.
usb speicher @ Oct 13th 2009 7:06AM
Hey its outstanding competition and I enjoyed Dead center.
Thanks for posting it.

These achievements for the most part are the ones that are meant to make you play longer than you might, Weak.
Anyhow the game should be fun, even more so possibly then the last. At least I hope so. Anyhow these achievements have me scratching my head asking why did they need to continue the time wasting ones.
