Damn this looks pretty awesome. I thought the Contra Rebirth was okay. Can't wait to see how Castlevania turns out.

Wow, Konami is doing a great job with these Wii rebirths. All I need is a Rush'n Attack rebirth or perhaps a Lifeforce rebirth?

Why would you want to remake that game? It was terrible. I suppose the remake will either be similar enough that it sucks, or so different that it might as well be a new game.

If the Wikipedia entry is any indication, it sounds like they're remaking a lost gem in the series, at least in terms of storyline:

"Set in 1576, Christopher Belmont sets out to destroy Dracula. At the conclusion of the game, Dracula is defeated and his castle destroyed."

Truly epic and unexpected for a Castlevania plot.

God, fiscal years in the video game industry are confusing. Nintendo and Sony's supposedly start in April, while Microsoft's starts in July? And the US government's starts in October. It'd be nice if companies could stanardize.

As long as they synch with the start of existing quarters (as in, nobody chooses June, or September), it isn't that confusing.

Looks good. I've always favored classic (pre-SoTN) castlevania over modern, though i've played little of either

I thought it was initially set for Q3 though, which is past. Unless they meant fiscal Q3

Sigh.

It's a shame when good games have to rot on Nintendo platforms.

Sadly, attitudes like this seem to be prevailing in the industry. Whenever any good third party game is announced for Wii, it's "a disappointment." But then these same people go on bitching about their dusty Wiis.

I wonder if they've tweaked the difficulty. I loved the original gameboy release and played it till I was able to beat it (cramped fingers and all! LOL). Man was that game hard! I wonder if this one will be just as difficult? I'm excited though....Castlevania is one of my all time favorite series! Will definitely be downloading this on day one!!!! The graphics look awesome! I hope they remake Belmont's Revenge as well!

Wow, it actually looks really good. I mean, I guess all the ReBirth games are done in the 16-bit style so I'm not sure what I was expecting, but definitely not something this nice looking. Hopefully it comes out soon; I haven't bought a WiiWare game since Bit.Trip Beat.

Looking forward to more "Rebirth" projects from Gameboy. Too many great games are stuck in monochome 8-bit land.

Titles I'd like to see:

Super Mario Land Rebirth (1+2)
Wario Land Rebirth
Metroid II Rebirth
Link's Awakening Rebirth
Sword of Hope Rebirth

Link's Awakening DX? That one at least isn't stuck in monochrome.

I'll agree with an update Metroid II. I've never played it...but I've saw some copies of it a few years back.

Link's Awakening...eh...I played the crap out of that...

Shouldn't Q3 2009 have already passed?

Q1: January, February, March
Q2: April, May, June
Q3: July, August, September
Q4: October, November, December

Unless they plan to delay it, they'll need a time machine to meet the date.

Very cool. I played the crap out of this on my original Gameboy. Finally something to spend my Nintendo points on!

But yeah, why not on DSi? It was already a portable game to begin with....

I do. The Metroidvania ones are not classics. The ones where you have actual levels and go from point A to B to complete the level are the classics.

This is going to be just epic and fantastic.

Castlevania: The Adventure isn't a bad game for it's time, although somewhat difficult and the game's motion is slow in the original GameBoy, it will not stop any CV fan from enjoying it, I would like to say 'Nice move Konami.'

The style and graphics on the look of the scan, are somewhat similar to those found on the DS Castlevania games, Konami probably took the inspiration of SoTN on this one, hopefully Konami doesn't disappoint people when they decide to release it.
