Jesus Christ. No collector's item should be 50 times more expensive then the standard version on the freaking RELEASE DAY OF THIS ITEM.

It probably won't be worth that much in 20 years either.

I got the batarang. That was disappointing. Why would this be any different?

(Yeah...after getting shafted on the batarang, I'm a bit skeptical)

Anyhow...

Somebody won this elusive, highly-coveted set, and yet, the only thing they could think of was to throw it on Ebay? Pitiful.

Great, only 200 are made and then one of them goes to one of those guys who only wants it to make a profit.

The bidding history makes for a good read.

It started at $59.99

i think the trend started when the guy upped the $101 bid to $250... not normal at that low of a price

How can anyone be mad at this guy? He started the bidding at a very reasonable $60. Doesn't look like he even put a reserve price on it. Taking advantage of idiots that are willing to pay over $3,000 is kinda amusing.

i dont blame the guy. i have to say that if i won one of these i would be doing the same thing. it's cool and all, but really its just going to sit around, and you can do a lot with $3k+. not that i ever thought they would go for that much, i figured maybe in the $600 range (twice the MSRP, according to the fine print on the contest).

it sucks, i'm home sick and my copy of uncharted 2 shipped yesterday but isnt supposed to arrive till the 20th! what's up with that? what do they do, have someone bicycle it out to me?! why did i try to save some extra $ with super saver shipping...

Wow, if I win one, I might then put it on ebay. $3000 would be a nice thing to have. Even if I only got $200 for it, I'd probably be really happy with a $200 profit. Sure I'd rebuy the game, and then only get $140 in profits, but still. I wish I had 3G. My gf would get spoiled. lol.

well anyone who bids on this is stupid because the only pic the guy even has of one is from one of the theater events where it was shown off. he actually has no pic proving that he even actually has one of these. most people who actually won one of these had a letter that you send to sony to claim it then they mail it to you in a few weeks, he doesnt even have a pic of that, so with no actual proof he owns one anyone is stupid to bid at all but really stupid to bid in the thousands.

They say a Game cannot refuse any request on this, the day of its sequel's release. But that Special Edition is an offer I CAN refuse.

Everything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. More power to him and to whoever has earned enough money to enjoy what they please.
