We recently found out that when Gameloft announced intentions to make a new Earthworm Jim game, the company really meant it intended to remake the first one. And while the next-gen version has some cleaned-up graphics, the iPhone release, as seen in the new trailer (after the break) might as well be a port. If you ignore the total lack of buttons, it might as well be the Genesis or SNES game. And speaking of buttons, have fun playing that submarine level on a touchscreen.
If the graphical improvements aren't more obvious in the WiiWare release, then the only real difference between the game on Virtual Console and WiiWare will be one extra level and difficulty selection. Awkward!
Never heard of either? I only had a Genesis at that point. At the age I was back when I had a Genesis, being a multiple console owner meant you had either a SNES or a Genesis, and then your best pal would have the other :P
Yeah, I had a SNES, but you gotta understand I didn't even know about the damn thing till it turned up in my living room the day it came out. I still remember it. My dad had put Super Mario World in a box. I unwrapped it and went like "Ehm.. dad... geez, this is a fake game, this doesn't fit in my NES." Then he told me to go try it anyways, and he had replaced the NES with the SNES.
If they implement the accelerometer for the submarine part, watch out for insane people roaming the streets looking to crack some skulls. God I love that game, but I hated that part.
Recently me and my gf's brother have been playing up to Snot a Problem and we can just not get past the 3rd part. Anyone got any tips?
Actually she prefers to kick my ass in puzzle quest, and hell no, I just finally got him to buy l4d1 and 2 so we can lan or online. Plus need him for testing out my maps.
Tip 2: Draw him close to the wall by falling right next to it and move just as he attacks by slowing down. Then speed up and go 'round his other side and push him into the wall, as he will be where you just were.
I can't believe I remembered that, having not played the game in twelve years or so at least.
I spent MANY hours with my big ol' Gameboy and EWJ back in the day. I was sad to see the franchise decline and die, but it seems that the digital distribution outlets are allowing devs to bring back the classics. EWJ and RKA. Can't wait.

is the screen caspture creepy? or is the game frame rate? earth worm jim is so fluid, and this deosnt sound like the one on the Snes, ...even for a Snes sound was great :-) " yippieeee"..." Who0000a, Nelly" ;-)
see that little virtual touch-screen joystick on the left side of the screen? Exactly why I would never buy this game. I need a real d-pad. That's not to say all iPhone games don't work because they're touch-based. I just want games that are built for the use of touch rather than games being shoe-horned to fit the platform. I've tried games that use this virtual control but it never feels right to me.
