With five days to go until launch, the game's success is one of the bigger question marks this holiday season. Thankfully, for Borderlands' sake, so many big games have left the arena that a new IP (no, not internet protocol) just might stand a better-than-average chance in the marketplace. At the very least, the box art is sure to grab attention on retail shelves. Go on, Claptrap, we believe in you.

That robot voice at the end sounds really familiar. Like it could be the voice for any number of talking robot toys from the 90s.

Except that the splatter of image across the top is supposed to be his mock-blown-out brains. With the hand moved back down to the side, it just looks like paint. Hopefully that's just altered art for the wussier retailers.
That said, props for Cage The Elephant. Can't wait to see them in a couple weeks.

Man this is going to be fanstasmic for everyone. I can not wait a minute to get it on the lead platform, the Xbox 360.

Sadly, my PC is more reliable than my 360.
PC versions are generally better. Why would a game for a console that had less RAM than the typical gaming PC did at the time of its launch be better?

Dr. Bradwart:
As far as I've heard, if you set everything to be on par with a console, as in 720p and most (though not all) settings maxed, Borderlands just naturally looks better in a lot of ways, such as color depth. Usually a game is better on a PC that is bulked up a bit and everything turned up, but this time it seems to just outclass the concoles from the get go.
Which is why I'm getting it on PC. Nothing like a flat-out superior product to entice me into a purchase. And the possibilities of cool mods.

It's not. Watch the whole thing and you'll see the dude put his hand up to the side of his head to blow his brains out, just like the original boxart (unless you're referring to something else that I'm missing).
Oh, and johnny? Completely uncalled for attack much?

Thank god they changed the original artstyle. It looked like any other boring and generic FPS. Now it looks clean, original, and the fun graphics match the fun look of the gameplay. I can't wait to pick up my copy of Borderlands on the 20th.

Definitely getting this game. I'm glad they went with this artstyle. It ain't no Prince of Persia awesome but looks really cool nonetheless.

Man, that original style looks incredibly generic. It originally wasn't even on my radar before the art change, and now after that and them showing off the gameplay for what it is, I'm very much looking forward to it.
