Much respect for the developers for getting out there to support their game. With them being devoted to the fans like this, it gives me high hopes for this game along with future DLC.

I just hope this game is as good as it seems! Most of my gaming friends are already turned off by the cell-shaded graphics stating "it's too cartoony."

then they go back to World at War and fight Nazi zombies.... *sigh*

Somebody got an early copy from a store that broke street date, and was streaming his game online last night. A bunch of the debs hopped into the chat room and were answering questions. It was awesome.

And when I say debs I mean devs. Anyway, IIRC there were 4 of themm on. It's good to see them so excited about their game.

I hope so, but I have a bad feeling this one is going to turn out as a bit of a disappointment.

I really do want this to be good though as we need a quality post-apocalyptic game that is a bit more action oriented than Fallout 3. This game reminds me of the Mad Max universe so that seems great too.

I hope that I am wrong about it being a disappointment!!

Lol maybe the roads and the cleanliness of Houston sucks, but I believe its an alright town.
Its also a very populated one, so I wouldn't see why not have one big one at a gamestop.

Sorry it was a bad joke, haha...

Reason they're all in Dallas is because the company is based in Plano, doesn't seem they want to stray too far from home.

That makes no sense. There's a ton of game development studios in Austin. Why not go there?

Why would they care where other dev studios are located? They're doing this for their fans, not other devs.

Unless I am mistaken, Gearbox is located in the DFW area. So, it makes more sense them to do this in Dallas than to drive to Austin.

Yeah, the 6 day delay is painful, but I couldn't pass up the $33.75 price.

I'm willing to be $34 that a shotgun that fires flaming razor blades will be awesome.

I couldn't think of anything less fun than playing a video game inside a shoebox of a GameStop. Do they even have TV's to play games on? Would've been nice to see the developers choose a real game store to launch in since their game needs help from the independents to sell through at launch. What's next guys? Tournaments at your local WalMart superstore?

For the halo3 launch they had a tourney at the location I live next to...they fit pizzas, 2 six foot subs, and 3 52" tv's in it.

Maybe you should find a better gamestop?

I own a game store in Los Angeles. 18 HDTV's. 18 360's 18 PS3's all on a super T1 tied into the backbone of the internet @ 5MS. 2 kegs and a back patio. Why in the hell would I go to a piece of shit GameStop. GamerDoc FTW!

Nice shameless self promotion. I'll make sure to make a trip out there to play games on stuff every other person is touching and fighting for. If you pulled in the kind of sales Gamestop does as a corporation and were located in the home metro area of the developer I'm sure they might send a couple people by.

Just because you own a game store with some money invested in tech doesn't make it a good marketing hub.

How in the world could I shamelessly promote myself on a blog? I think GaneStop sucks and the developer isn't from D/FW. They could have chosen a local independent retailer to help promote their game and they didn't. I didn't ask them to come to my store and I am not asking any assholes like you either to come in. I own what I own and I stand by my record on giving back to my community and the gaming community in general. GameStop with all there money gives nothing but I will personally plant a flagpole in your yard if you want to run a flag up and salute them. Because they TRULY CARE ABOUT YOU!

I stand corrected. I was under the impression they developed the game in Austin. I grew up in Richardson and worked at Los Rios Country Club in Plano through High School. I went to Berkner in Richardson. None of that excuses the fact that as a developer they could have supported a great mom and pop shop in the area instead of a crappy company based in the area that does very little for the gaming community or charities in general with their billion dollar revenue. Independent game stores constantly get shit on because of exclusives and other special crap given to GameStop while the same developers will cry about used game sales and how they hurt their industry. I have absolutely no sympathy for any of them. It is after all business and GameStop does it very poorly regardless of their revenue and size. I will continue to eat them alive in my area and continue to grow and consume more of their market share while giving superior customer service and it doesn't cost me a penny more.

Hey Wales. I'm a dev at Gearbox and I am sure that if any of those ma and pa places were having a midnight opening and contacted us like all the gamestops in the area did we'd be sending people there too.

As a matter of fact, we're sending 5 or 6 devs to EVERY gamestop in the area doing a midnight opening for the launch.
