With Super Street Fighter IV proposing to add eight new fighters to the already content-rich SFIV experience, we could easily envision Capcom charging top dollar for the title -- despite Capcom's comments to the contrary -- but that doesn't appear to be the case. According to a GameStop listing, the retailer pegs the release down to March 23, 2010, which certainly falls in line with Capcom's quoted "Spring 2010" placeholder, and suggests the game will have a $40 price tag.
Look, Capcom, all we're going to say is this: the price isn't an issue, but in all of your tinkerin' with this and that, you better not mess with our favorite character, Dan -- or we will find you ... and likely grovel at your feet, asking you to change him back.
"With Super Street Fighter IV proposing to add eight new fighters to the already content-rich SFIV experience, we could easily see Capcom charging top dollar for the title..." I say this half in jest, but are you aiming to protect existing Capcom marketing revenue, or opening a new stream?
Should be DLC, $20 at best. I like the other poster's argument, drawing an analogy to Fallout 3.
The cost of additional content/DLC should be proportional to the amount of effort it took to create it, and not ride on a franchise's name.
All these iterations...we should be used to them for SF. The difference is, back in the day, we weren't really paying more for them...still 25 cents a pop to play, each time.
The console versions of those past iterations you remember so well were all sold at full price, too. You'll even be able to play Super Street Fighter IV at the arcade, sans the $40 price tag - just like the old days! :P
i think 40 dollars seems fair although i was really hoping for a 30 dollar price. i do hope that aside from the new characters and the various revamps/fixes, that capcom makes an effort to make the ps3 ver on par with 360 and or pc version, in terms of graphics.
there really shouldn't be any more excuses in ps3 always getting the butt-end whenever a game is multi-platform.
Capcom has really got to stop remaking their games and actually make new ones.... srsly... If they could add a good eight characters they could have just worked a bit longer and then make more characters and stages for street fighter 5... please don't make this another street fighter II..... at least that game was good... >_> just wait for it guys a year from now super street fighter IV TURBO will be announced.....
