Awesome, I thought we were gonna have to wait until March for this. I do have one question though, what's with the extra magazine/reserve ammo? Does ME2 use ammo? Didn't the first one have a big sciency explanation about the guns using a big block of metal and customizing the bullets on the fly? How are they gonna explain dumbing the guns down?

I think your main weapons have unlimited ammo, but there are special weapons like rocket launchers that are limited.

Your right Dark Wayne, but I seem to remember them mentioning that the big weapons will use ammo while the normal guns (rifle, shotgun, pistol) will still be infinite.

okay that makes a lot of sense. Cant have a huge metal block cut custom black holes or missiles on the fly. I sure hope the standard guns are still infinite though, cause adding ammo to those seems like a serious technological step back that would be hard to explain believably

I'm really starting to hate these in-game preorder bonuses. I don't want to give my money to gamestop.

In one of those dev diaries or preview videos where they had a dev team member narrating they mentioned that the standard weapons would still have infinite ammo.

think of it this way. Pre order bonuses at gamestop convince people to preorder a game and buy it new, instead of used. Used profits are 100 percent to gamestop, a new game they only make about 12 bucks. So if more people buy new because of preorder bonuses, the less gamestop makes. And come on people lay off em already, they arent running sweat shops full of little kids.

When your weapon overheats you can reload the heatsink or whatever theyre calling it instead of waiting for it to cool down. You probably dont have infinite heatsinks so that might be what its referring to.

Me 2 uses a heat sink. So before the weapon is about to overheat, you release the heat sink and it doesn't. So your not using ammo, your using heat sinking cartridges.

ME 2 uses heat sinking. So before your gun is about to overheat, you can eject a heat sinking cartridge. This way it's kind of like loading, but it's not because you not using ammo, your using a heat sink cartridge.

I can't wait for this and will definitely pre-order but I never enter these codes for items. I want to play the game the way it was intended to be played, not with some overpowered early weapons because I gave them $5 to be sure I had a copy a week before release.

Sell your codes, those things go for decent money on things like ebay. I.e. someone that gets a preorder to get a bonus from somewhere else will sometimes pay for your code to get your bonus.

I'd never seen the cover for this game before now, and it looks pretty bad. The game is going to be amazing, but this cover just doesn't look right.

I'm guessing it's cheesy on purpose... hopefully anyways. I love it... takes me back to the box art from the old days.

On the giant poster they had of the cover at PAX, it looked like they cleaned it up a bit. Maybe it was just because it was giant but I liked it a lot more after that.

Did anyone notice that Bioware's games usually followed a certain theme? The KOTOR and Mass Effect covers all prominently feature a protagonist and main antagonist as the central features in the centre with secondary characters being off to the side and ships on the middle left and right sides. Even the Jade Empire box art sort of followed the same theme. This one is the first time in a while that they've moved away from that. Also it looks like DA:O is different as well.

Damn the hits keep on comin'! Rolling from Holiday '09 to '10.

I kinda like it, instead of a gazillion games coming out in November, spacing them out keeps us playing all year round! :)

OMG too soon! So much other stuff to play through first and I still need to do another ME1 run to get my save file the way I want it for ME2.

This game should have its own year.

I played ME1 on PC, and since got an Xbox. I'm gonna wait until we know exactly what is being carried over and how much it affects gameplay before I play through it again. The story was great, but I just can't imagine doing all those Mako missions again

WTB more tangible pre-order bonuses (i.e. art books, etc) and less in-game armor that let's you breeze through the game on ez-mode, thus cheapening the experience...

The worst part is they'll release all the bells and whistles (art book, soundtrack, novels) as a separate product.
