Rock Band Weekly: A killer Queen pack

We've known for quite some time that Queen DLC was to grace Rock Band Weekly. Yes, we've dubbed it the "All The Good Ones Except for Bohemian Rhapsody" Track Pack, but that doesn't make the offering any less exciting. Next week's update will have living-room bands cringe as their respective vocalists attempt with all their might to sing like Freddie Mercury. Then again, if the kids of Glee can sing "Somebody to Love" together, then maybe everyone in the band should pitch in.

That was the first thing I thought too. I guess I should be happy for what we're getting, which are some good songs in their own right.

Whatever...I need to buy less Rock Band tracks anyway, I rarely play the ones I have as it is.

Most of these songs are far from their best stuff... What gives?

Somebody To Love was emo before emo was popular. Queen Greatest Hits cd compilations are great.

No Radio Ga Ga though? That was the highlight of the original Live Aid.

Yeah, no Radio GaGa? This isn't "All the good ones besides Bohemian Rhapsody" It's just some good ones.

Also, no Don't Stop Me Now? Seriously?

Harmonix is afraid of zombies.

Isn't Don't Stop Me Now piano-based? Or is there a piano in Rock Band? I have no clue.

Well, in the Kansas songs released this past week, there's a LOT of violin playing charted to the guitar part, and there's various keyboard/piano parts charted to the guitar in various songs (Smokin' by Boston, some NiN songs, etc.). Not to mention Super Sprode...

So what I'm getting at is, anything is possible

Since you mentioned Boston, has anyone else noticed that you can't buy Boston songs in RB at the moment? At least they don't show up to me, which is odd since I just bought Peace of Mind yesterday and liked it so much I want more.

Ill probably only get killer queen, as I only have 200 points left, and I don't feel its worth it to buy more points unless its must have, high difficulty dlc

quit your whining. they have 10 of their best songs with 2 others on lego rock band and i'm sure bohemian rhapsody will be on rock band 3. wah wah they don't have this song. expand your musical tastes.....

Plus, no one said these were the only Queen songs ever coming to Rock Band. In fact, Brian May was talking about a whole game.

That said, they need to add Innuendo ASAP.

There are so many good ones I'd like to see on there:

Flick of the Wrist
I'm in Love With My Car
Tenement Funster
Sheer Heart Attack

Just to name a few, I could go on, and on though.

You know man...I'm in Love with my Car is my favorite from the band(i love Roger Taylor) and you're the first person besides myself to mention the song.

I'm in Love With My Car would be an interesting surprise...a lot of stuff off that same album would be worthwhile, actually.

I'm mostly wanting the usual, though - Don't Stop Me Now and Princes of the Universe.

Hammer To Fall would be very welcome.

Body Language would be hilarious.

While we're at it (since you named like three), lets just have all of Sheer Heart Attack as DLC.

I'd love to play basically any song off of it. Especially Brighton Rock.

Queen's Greatest Hits spans 3 CD last I checked. Who ever said this was that?

Great collection IMHO with room for Queen DLC Pack 2. Let's leave it at that.

I agree. I'm sure they'll rape us for more money with a second Queen DLC pack sometime in the future...and we'll like it and ask for more as we buy them all. lol

Might just have to buy the whole pack.

Reminder: If you want "We Are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You," you're most likely just going to have to get Lego Rock Band (which DOES come with a song export....even if it IS $10...)

Not according to the track listing (by which I mean they are apparently treated as separate songs in L:RB).

God i hate kids these days. Theres a 10 pack of Queen songs. all the songs are amazing. WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT!? Yeah it doesnt have some of your faves, but they could only have 10 songs! 2 of the very famous Queen songs are on LEGO Rock band so they couldnt include those, and who knows what they have planned for Rock band 3!

The No Doubt pack had 13, so they COULD have added more. But yeah, we should be thankful we ARE getting these 10 at last.

The "No Doubt pack", as you call it, was actually just their full greatest hits album.

And to everyone whining how they're not including "Bohemian Rhapsody," I have a better one for you.

Why the hell did they release the entirety of Nirvana's Nevermind WITH THE EXCEPTION of "Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Come as You Are," "Lithium"? With the exception of "In Bloom," they left out all of the singles, which are the songs that people are going to most want to play. I still think it's kind of crazy how "Something in the Way" becomes a higher priority than "Smells Like Teen Spirit," which is probably the one song everyone knows from them. :/

Granted 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' was "leading the grunge revolution" but; I definitely appreciated 'Something In The Way' much more, musically at least.

Because Harmonix would rather have quantity over quality.

Guitar Hero exclusivity. That's why there hasn't been any more Metallica after Rock Band's launch.

Love this pack ... esp because of the lack of Bohemian Rhapsody. I know a lot of people like it, and I did too ... once. After Mike Myers drilled it into our heads I am sick of the song and happy I can buy the whole pack without suffering with that one.

Theres something seriously messed up in your head if you are still sick of a song from actions 17 years ago. And the kicker being you admittedly used to like the song. Go get checked out.

The bridge of "Bicycle Race" would definitely be fun to play on guitar. They should throw the faster, live version of "Now I'm Here" on there - all the instruments and the vocals get pretty wild. A live version of "Sheer Heart Attack" needs to make it on there too. Queen always sounds better on their live albums.

They definitely missed some gooders, but honestly, that is a pretty awesome pack of tunes right there.

It's a great song, don't get me wrong, I'm just comparing a song that hardly anyone is aware of and is very slow and simple to a song that everyone knows and would be perfect for parties. You'd think Rock Band would favor the latter first. They've GOT to be saving it for something...

I assume it may have something to do with Guitar Hero 5, though, seeing as how it's in GH5 and playing as Kurt Kobain is an option... I blame what's-her-face.

I know it HAS to have something to do with messy licensing issues, and it's really a shame, and hopefully, MTV Games can clear the rights in the near future so we can just get them already.

Yes. Surprised that wasn't mentioned. Queen is more exciting for most I'd guess, but I'm definitely buying both immediately.

Abbey Road + Queen = I'll be $33 poorer next week!
