I purchased PSP Go and am very happy with it. Got 3 games plus the Rock Band game that came with it (which is a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be). I love the fact I don't have to carry games around with me and I can purchase a new game without having to go to the store.

I know I could of done the same with the PSP 3000 but why? So I can save $50 which I would of had to buy memory stick anyways which brings it to a $20-$30 dollar difference anyways.

Seems like the only people that have an issue are previous psp owners. But for those people who cares, there is no reason for them to upgrade anyways.

Also note to people that are getting one, you won't be able to start playing a game for about 3-4 hours after you open it up. Right away you need to do a system update but your battery has to be charged to do the update. Also if you have a PC then install the MediaGo software since your games will download faster on the PC.

You know if you bought a PSP 3000 bundle, it would have come with a memory stick, right? Probably would have come with a game, a game voucher and a movie as well. It would have only been a 1gb, but I managed with my 1 gb for a year before I needed a larger one.

Wow. All the uncertainly surrounding the Go prompted me to get a 2000 instead.

Looks like I called it right.

Simple equation. No digital version=no purchase for me. I love my go and there is no going (pun not intended) back. To be honest, it's not like there's a chance in hell I would have bought any of those anyway, and Chinatown Wars is confirmed for PSN, so I'm good. :)

You are right that I could have got a bundle for about $50 less and it looks like the newer ones come with a 4gb card which is not bad. I would want a large capacity card so I don't have to swap memory cards out to play games because then I might as well be carrying around umd games.

I am not against umd games either as there will always be market for people that want to buy a physical copy of a game. I think the developers are missing a great opportunity by not releasing downloadable versions of there games along with UMD versions. The online distribution of the game has to be cheaper than physical media.

It would be nice if sony did push the downloadable distribution at the third party companies but I think once they start seeing other companies embracing it like RockStar is, more will start jumping on the band wagon.

I believe that they take shots at all three companies equally although they probably do hate the Go; apparently everyone else here too.

joystiq is not a collection of 360 or ps3 fanboy it seems , like many comment's on this site. they beat up the 360 and joke about it all the time too.

why do people suddenly say you hate a brand just because you complain about something ?

wow so does this prove that the pspGO is inferior of the psp in different ways.
not only can I not play any old UMD game now, but I may not be able to play other games too that release.

I dont see the GO install base ever coming close to that of the PSP so 3rd party developers will probably keep making more games for the PSP itself.

it would be better for sony to force them to make both versions, but would that push some 3rd parties away that sony so desperately needs on the PSP.

I am enjoying my Go. I really hated UMDs from the start when I bought a launch PSP from Gamestop and they forced 6 games I didn't want on me. I bought this go with store credit, so it didn't hurt my wallet that much.

To Sony and PSN:

Take a look at Xbox live service and how there is a demo for just about EVERY game. Even the arcade games. There are even trailers and pictures so you can at least see what the game looks like. This is my biggest gripe with the PSN. I've been having to get on IGN.com a lot more just to see what a game is about.

Yup, it's like for every smart decision Sony makes these days, they make 2 stupid ones. Not requiring downloadable versions of games can't be helping *anyone*. Publishers will lose out on some sales to PSP Go owners, as well as older PSP owners who would rather have a downloadable game than swap UMDs. PSP owners lose the choice of how they get a game, and PSP Go owners have no choice at all. And for every sale lost this way, Sony loses money, too.

This is the stupidest article I've read this week (and I read the poorly written Demon's Souls review).

Forcing people to release their games on the PSN when they don't want to would be fuckin bullshit. If I want to make a UMD-only release (though I don't know why I would), I should be able to do so. We fought Stalin and Chairman Mao to avoid communist dicktatorships (yes, I'm aware of how I spelled it).

They should all release them on PSN. I have a 16GB memory card in my PSP and now I'd rather just download games. It's much more convenient. You can take a bunch of games with you and not worry about taking the UMDs.

This is madness! I bought the psp go thinking all future games would be released for it! Ok, this has been a big disapointment so far. Also, I would have liked it for all games to have a free demo, kinda like on xbox live arcade.

At least we get Peace Walker.

I'm all aboard for the PSPGo. My girlfriend just got me one for my bday. Never wanted a psp until the announced the go... the concept of having access to my games library w/o having to keep up with umd's made it a workable solution for me. (I'm only going to play it when I'm traveling, otherwise I'm on the PS3).

But this half-assed support by the devs is stupid. The one game that got me the most interested in the system (Final Fantasy Dissidia), is not even available on PSN!!! Thankfully I've found some other fun games (Joanne D'arc & Patapon 2). But the inability to have access to every game that I want is freakin stupid. I'd really be pissed if I'd paid $250 for the thing! But other than that... the PSP is kinda cool :-)

This is like the release of a long-lost generation product after the 3rd or 4th generation has already hit the market.

"We missed this step. Here, higher price and less features. BUY IT!"

In other news, Apple will release the lost "2 and 3/4th" generation iPod. BACK TO THE WHEEL! $300.

It could just be simpler than a lot of your think it is. They could just be making more bad decisions after good ones. Like creating a cool something then doing something dumb to make that cool something not so cool anymore. Nothing sinister. Just dumb thinking. ;) Don't worry, they'll learn from this and in the future retcon everything happening at this moment in time and try to convince the rest of us of it in that future. It's Sony after all. They do things. :) Like how your embarrassing old uncle says things that could be taken wrong, but you know he's not like that. He says things. :) That's all.

Ok, I'm just being silly and kidding with you. ;)
