Well, seeing this I'm not impressed anymore. I think it's awesome fan service that they are releasing this, and I've always wanted to play GoW1&2 but never had, and I have a 60GB PS3. I actually pre-ordered this game, but now I'm going to cancel it.
The reason is - all this work/effort and they didn't make it 1080p?!?!?!?! Unfortunately this just looks too much like playing a PS2 game, and once GoW3 comes out this is going to look like a joke.
I get the purpose of this collection, and I'm glad they are doing it, but they should hvae done it in 1080p - then it would truly have looked as good as it could have as a scaled-up PS2 game....

People complaining about the PS2 games looking bad when played on a PS3 are having the wrong argument. Of course they look terrible. The same goes for PSOne games. Play FFVII from a PSOne disc on a PS3, then play it from the PlayStation Store. Two completely different products.
These people are talking about completely remaking the game, not just upscaling the graphics or increasing the resolution. Your arguments are invalid.

Not even a big fan of the PS3 but that upgrade looks great. Congrats to Santa Monica Studios on that one. Guess I'll be using the PS3 for something more than movies this holiday. Sorry, not the only reason, Uncharted 2 is great.

This is just the begining! But I can see what the real reason for dropping ps2 support on ps3 and is so you have to buy all those games again the first few will get the visual enhancements and then just ports and all through psn so it costs them next to nothing to produce other than paying the staff that do the port as with all downloadable content keep in mind you don't own it you are being licensed to use it and as with all licenses it can be revoked at their discretion
