Much like Batman: Arkham Asylum's sale price during its initial release, Canadian retailers are giving players a break with the upcoming shooter Borderlands. For a limited time, Futureshop, Walmart and Best Buy are offering the Gearbox title for the discounted price of $39.96 on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Borderlands hits stores on October 20, giving Canadians plenty of time to dig out of their snow covered homes.
It's confirmed though however some that Canadians commonly pronounce "a-boooot" instead of "about" with an "ow" sound. =D And "proooooocess" instead of "process" with an "aw".
Well, as long as the game doesn't say "ey?" after every sentence or something, and isn't primarily (I.E. only) in french, I may pick it up from there instead....uh, if I can somehow. Stupid customs.
*Le Sigh* BB won't ship outside of canada and joystiq's Walmart link just redirects back to here and the futureshop link says it's not redirecting correctly (all in firefox).
Though I'm also at work and behind some pretty hefty websense. *Shrug* Oh well.
First off, stfu. secondly, it was a joke that apparently was lost on some. *Shrug* can't hit gold every time. Though I *am* genuinely bummed I can't cash in on this deal.
As a Canadian I must say that I have never seen one person who lives in an igloo or says "eh!" to a ridiculous extent. To add, I have never seen a beaver in my life and I don't even know how to skate.
Poutine, hockey, hot prairie girls and $40 at release games? I'll trade that any day for needing the army to come in every couple of years to dig out Toronto.
BTW, Bestbuy sale _is_ online... if you live in Canada. I got Batman:AA delivered to my house (3 weeks late mind you because of disgusting back-order). Plus you have to pay GST and delivery charge (that's why it's just below $40 as over $40 is free delivery), so total cost is ~$46 Canajun dollars.
Theres a place near me (northwestern ontario) that sells a "grandmas poutine". Its got fries, and cheese curds, but instead of gravy it comes with marinara sauce all over it... Sooooo good!
It's not our fault you make it so easy. And hey, there's already Americans going off about igloos and accents. So, it's not like you don't ask for it back.
Considering that most other games have been running at $69.99, I'd disagree. Uncharted 2 is one of the few recent games to launch at the regular $59.99. I use that term, regular, lightly, since before our dollar rose above the USD many months back, the regular price was $69.99 then, too.
I was buying Borderlands anyway, but paying nearly half price is a big bonus. I'll buy a copy for my friend, at that price.
Crap. I really want Borderlands but I just bought Uncharted 2 and there's no way in hell I'm waiting for either MW2 or NSMBWii, plus Nostalgia seems really cool. Maybe Borderlands will have to be a Christmas present...
Dunno, pal, just watched the 'choose your hero' video they're advertising on Live and unless some great reviews come out I won't be touching this one.
It has started to look reeaaaally bad to me since they started showing more gameplay. For example, the animations for people exploding, the bloody explosions, buildings exploding, etc just all look awful and poorly done in my opinion.

The Walmart link is meant to open this post, to show off the clipping from the flyer after the break. The sale isn't available online.
The Futureshop link seems to work fine for us.

But of course.. the game will also insert mukluks, igloos and seals. Dipshit yank. Keep your money and stay out of our country.

Okay, let's clear this up.
We get a game on sale for $40, about a $19 savings from the US street price.
However a TV that costs $549 there costs us about $699.99 here + about 14% sales tax.
I'll take the $549 TV, thanks.

But it terms of this specific moment, we do have it 1338-ly good.
I wasn't actually interested in the game much, but at this price... Fuck it, I'll buy it.
I've been bored out of my mind lately.
