During an event celebrating the recent theatrical release of Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike in Japan, Namco Bandai's Makoto Yoshizumi said there is a strong internal desire to develop a sequel to Xbox 360 and PlayStation Tales of Vesperia. According to Yoshizumi, staff have questioned whether a Vesperia 2 is in the publishers future, leaving him to jokingly respond, "Don't talk like a fan!" "We're thinking about it," he told press during the creator discussion in Japan's Shinjuku district.
According to the panel, Vesperia's story is far from over as Namco Bandai is already brainstorming ideas if the opportunity for a new film in the series arises. "I don't know when it will happen, but we'd like to show [these things] in video form," Namco Bandai's general manager told those in attendance. Hopefully Namco Bandai will release a potential sequel for all platforms simultaneously, otherwise we may have a repeat situation of angry Japanese gamers on our hands.

Oh, and I want some online co-op. Just make it like how couch works, only that a friend who owns the game can just play with you on yours. Doesn't seem to hard to me, however neither did online co-op in dynasty warriors 6. Its going to come out 2009, even their toasters have wifi, why cant I play online.

Yeah, i think Symphonia deserved to be on a much higher console due to its greatness. However, I figured since GameCube had the first Tales of Symphonia, that they'd have the rights to the sequel (and they did). Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both Symphonia titles very much (Although Emil acted like a wuss most of the time). However, if I had a personal request on a Tales sequel, I'd choose Phantasia (most preferably for Xbox/PS3).

As long as it's made by the same team and is a direct sequel, using the same characters and everything, I'm totally behind it. Vesperia is one of the best Tales games ever.
However, this time they should drop Sakuraba and use Go Shiina again. Sakuraba needs to take a break from composing because all of his soundtracks are starting to sound the same.
Also, more costumes and playable Flynn plzkthnx!

Shiina beats Sakuraba any day of the week. Still, Shoji Meguro is my favorite, though his music wouldn't fit a Tales game at all.

Yuri and co. are done. They've had their adventure.
New Tales game that builds upon ToV's gameplay systems: yes.
ToV2: no.

P4's soundtrack was a masterpiece. P3 was good outside of the BABY BABY BABY stuff.

I wouldn't say it was worth it, if it weren't for the multiplatform release. around 700k between them, split at 400 360, 300 PS3
Though one wonders if it even turned a profit at those levels, though i suppose they wouldn't be considering a sequel at all if it hadn't

The PS3 version of Vesperia sold roughly the 360 version's lifetime sales in Japan within the span of the first two days... and the PS3 version still hasn't shown up stateside yet.

Hey Square Enix, see those sales? Next time, put your RPGs on the PS3 if you want to make money.

I'm still waiting for the PS3 version, but I'm starting to suspect it may be a paid exclusive outside of Japan. Before anyone says I should get a 360 then, I gladly would, but I'm not very wealthy you know. :P
If Vesperia 2 gets announced for only the 360 it may become the JRPG version of Mass Effect where all PS3 owners keep hoping part 1 gets a port.

So, what about the PS3 version on the US ?I want to play that too, you know.
After that, you guys can consider a sequel.....or a better new Tales of game on the PS360.

Vesperia is a beautiful and fun series. I hope they go for it! Preferably on 360 PS3 with some online.

I'm curious where the sequel will go, since Yuri and friends saved the world. Hope it would be better than the Tales of Symphonia sequel that graced the Wii, if Namco Bandai decides to go with Vesperia 2.

As long as they make the cutscenes shorter then a sequel will be a maybe the only problem I had with the first one was that it felt like I was watching a movie more then acutally playing a game

It's either Tales of Vesperia or Tales of something else. Either way, they are gonna make another Tales game.

hmm well im suprised this hasnt been mentioned but a sequel to tales of teh abyss would be a cool option seeing as many fans wanted that instead of symphonias sequel (im a symphonia fan myself) but... it would be fair to give the fans what they want.
also if namco are going make any more tales games could they speed up the distribution process of it comnig outside of japan becuase tales of symphina 2 hasnt even reached europe(we get 3 masks -wooopee -_-.gallery and somthing else or is that it i forgot) but i imported mine months back its a decent game if you want to clear the dust off youre wii again.( i just know im going to get flamed to death becuase of that >< ) but w/e its what brings life to these entertaining posts ^_^.
anyway heres hoping they will do a sequel to ANY tales of fame oh.. and that it gets distributed everywhere but it would be wierd as some of them if not most werent relased worldwide but nothing a little import cant fix :P

Well, I'm going based off a trusted friend's opinion about Vesperia. But either way, I'd rather not argue about which Tales game is better than which.
I'm more towards showing people how much more awesome and better the Tales series is than a couple of other RPG series I know of.

I'm still waiting for the game in the US. Could they consider this first, please? Pretty please? I want to play the game so badly! And no, I won't buy a 360 just for it. Here in Brasil is not everyone who can afford to have two current gen videogames. You can't begin to imagine just how overpriced they are in here.
If only the asia ver. had english subtitles... =/
