Update: A Microsoft representative has contacted us to say that the bundle will be shipping on November 10. As the bundle includes a retail copy of the game, Microsoft is unable to allow these to ship any earlier, meaning those who pre-ordered from the sites mentioned below will likely be waiting a few days before their bundle arrives. Sorry, folks!
We can't say that we were exactly taken aback to find out a couple of online retailers are listing the upcoming Modern Warfare 2-paired 250GB Xbox 360 launch as November 10, the same day the game arrives at retailers nationwide. An eagle-eyed reader at Joystiq sister site Engadget spotted the bundle at both Amazon and Costco (GameStop also has the Nov. 10 ship date listed), where the details re-confirm the bundle's lack of a component cable (for shame!). We've contacted Activision to make sure we're not being led astray, but it'd be hard to expect those willing to shell out the 399 clams for the bundle to have to wait to get their fool-shootin' on.

not immediately. When the elite came out initially the 120gb hdd never was sold separate until several months, then it wasnt till much later that they sold the 60gb separately either they now sell it as a xbox live starter bundle.
eventually i'm sure they will sell 250gb hdds.

how is this good deal. an elite is 300 an extra controller is 50. and the game is 60 you save 10 dollars. and how many people (including myself) has maxxed out the 120gb. none that i have seen, and the ones are close probably rip every game to the HDD and dont get rid of them. so 250 really doesnt make a difference. and a special graphic is cool and all but after a month or two you wont even notice anymore. a deal yes....but a great or fantastic deal it isnt

I hate the fact that a Component cable isn't included but here is an HDMI cable for a penny + shipping. Stock up!

All Elites have HDMI ports AND the XBOX type cable port. So yes the HDMI cable will work.

More like, I'm used to my 20gb "Pro" model, which does not have a direct HDMI port. Plus, right now I'm using a VGA adapter. So, I'd call it confusion, and a lack of me not buying every single 360 SKU.
Oh, and my intention was to entirely fuck over your day johnnynumber5.
Glad to see I did so.

Pass. I would rather have Borderlands. If people keep buying Call of Duty games, and this happens to be the best-selling game of the year, expect to see Activision milk this franchise even more for at least ten more years.

Indeed. I respect Infinity Ward, but I cannot stand Activision or Treyarch. I am TIRED of hearing about Call of Duty: WaW and it's stupid map packs that they continue to come out with seemingly every week (I know they don't). It's a great example of MILKING.

Yeah, I hate developers that continue to support their product after launch too.
It's absolutely disgusting.
They should be more like infinity Ward, and just throw out one half-assed map pack and call it a day.

if you cant tell what makes cod games distinctly IW or Treyach i guess its accurate that you do consider yourself casual.

I think you certainly have haters when it comes to Treyarch specifically but you also have those people who will suck up anything with Call Of Duty on the cover and defend it to the death. Personally, I thought WaW was an average game and substandard compared to Modern Warfare ... then again I'm one of the few who only plays the campaign in Call Of Duty and not the multiplayer so it's a little different with me. WaW felt unfinished and unrefined even though it was kind of fun to play through the campaign. It just wasn't anywhere close to Modern Warfare imo ... I'm certainly not a hater or a dick rider just a dude with an opinion.

I liked both COD: MW and COD: W@W. Both are excellent games (reviews show it), and even through W@W is overshadowed by COD: MW, in a world WITHOUT COD: MW, it would be praised like crazy. The campaign is a ton of fun, and the cinematic are pretty cool. The multiplayer is fun (but some of those maps are pretty un0balanced). Still, i would never say W@W is a bad game.

they wanted to make the console look less gaudy thus they went for a more subtle approach to designing the console art. they wanted to look like military grade hardware they mentioned an ammo crate in one of their interviews

I still say the Halo 3 case is the best-looking 360 edition, pity it's only running old chipsets.

Regardless of the reasoning or rationale it's not something that looks very impressive or even anything that reminds me of call of duty. The Halo 360 is still by far the best looking one to date ... that one had serious thought and design put into it and it showed with the finished product. This just looks like an elite with some extra graphics. As far as the value of the bundle itself -- fantastic deal.

I would much rather like to see an Assassin's Creed style look to the console. Or a Bioshock design, or Fallout.

Have to agree with a number of people here, how is this newsworthy? This is completely old information, its been posted well over a month now that the bundle is coming out the 10th of November as well as the standard game by itself. Perhaps maybe if this bundle was mistakenly placed in a large Mylar balloon and let adrift would major news carriers pick it up, but this is really nothing new information wise.

Maybe its just me....anyone longing for some better bundle than this?
I am all for the 250gb HD -- but I rather have different game and an HDMI cable.
How about Forza 2 with a black case and white racing stripes and an HDMI cable!
I believe the European/UK bundles are better than what we seem to be getting.
I can see a 250gb HD coming, but I bet NOT till next year. Pretty lame what we have offered this coming holiday season thus far on the Xbox 360 front

Actually the 250 GB HDD, MW2 & two wireless controllers for $399 is one hell of a deal all things considered. Why have them pack in an HDMi cable when you can get one online for a few bucks? That would detract from some of the other value in the console. Now, a wi-fi adapter would be a nice addition to that forza bundle you mentioned. Make it a year of Live, 250 Gb HDD, Forza 3, HDMi & Wi-Fi for $299.
