Atlus USA announced today that it's deploying additional copies of Demon's Souls to North American retailers. Those who've been trying get a copy in a local brick-and-mortar establishment have likely noticed the game is pretty much sold out. The company also announced that the "deluxe edition," which included the 160-page strategy guide, will not be "remanufactured" -- good thing there's an official wiki.
Demon's Souls has quickly become one the surprise hits of the holiday season, garnering acclaim from various outlets (yes, even us, for those with reading comprehension skills) and has obviously had stronger sales than Atlus was originally expecting.

heheh...Deluxe Edition discontinued.
I've stockpiled about 4 at my home. Let the opportunistic raping on Ebay begin!

Hasn't everybody who wanted a deluxe already bought one?

Wise choice my fellow man, if you really want to platinum U2 anytime soon. I popped in my copy of DS midway going for my NGS2 platinum and haven't touched another game since...also my U2 is still in the plastic now because of DS and if I am not done by the time MW2 comes out...I don't even care, that will stay in the metal case aswell.

Yeah....trying to finish up UC2 to where I feel comfortable, then move onto DS...
Don't know how I'm going to fit in co-op hours of Borderlands too and still have to complete homework (plus I work fulltime). -_-
I need a long vacation.

@ Sly, on my first playthrough on Normal I got all the weapon kill trophies except the Magnum and Chaingun. You basically just have to use the rarest weapon available all the time.
Chaingun does suck though since it's like wearing a big flashing sign that says SHOOT ME I CANT USE COVER.

Damn you Toys R Us, I waited to get DSs on that 3 for 2 sale only to discover that they didn't carry the game!

I hate TRU's whole bait and switch strategy. They try to lure you in with all these titles but then when you get to the store, you're basically effed (b/c they stock those releases in such low numbers).
I'm going to try and hit them up for Borderlands tomorrow morning, but not holding my breath...

Biggest surprise in the PS3 catalogue, in my opinion. So deep and satisfying and just tons of amazing atmosphere.
Probably won't be everyones cup o' tea, but it sure is mine.

I was REALLY hoping of getting the deluxe edition. Oh well, I guess I don't mind shelling out some extra bucks at Amazon...

My reading comprehension skills are fantastic and I still thought the review itself lacked content and context. That was the general consensus from most of the other comments as well. Only the tards thought it was an anti demons souls review. But, it still wasn't very in depth or informative. It read more like a hands on preview than a proper review.

Agreed. Joystiq deserved the backlash it got from its (p)review so I don't get why they're complaining now.
If they wanted praise then maybe they should have written an actual review like this: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/12/review-demons-souls/comments/22292954/

The amount of praise this game is getting is amazing...
I really want to buy the game now, but I'll wait until I'm done with Uncharted 2. And THAT will have to wait until I'm done with schoolwork. Stupid university...

I had the deluxe edition preordered so I'm all set. I love the game, it didn't take me too much time to get used to it, I started enjoying it right away, it kinda points out why I haven't enjoyed any rpgs recently, they're all too bland and easy (I'm looking at you final fantasy 12).
I would recommend trying to get the deluxe edition, the guide is really helpful for getting you on your feet, more so than online guides
