Swedish rapper Pato Pooh asks you to follow him into the old school
40
Adding himself to the short list of things we associate with Sweden other than Volvo, Ikea, and delicious meatballs, Stockholm's Pato Pooh recently released a music video for his song "Follow Me." It features a regular who's who of 8- and 16-bit era gaming in the process, referencing everything from Mega Man's opening to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He even kills off that snickering jerk dog from Duck Hunt we all love to hate. Who's laughing now, dog? Who's laughing now?!

I generally dont like the style of music so it's a given I'm not a fan of the song, but it was very well done visually. The song itself feel like a 4 minute plea to be his fan. Seems kind of desperate IMO.

maybe so but he is a fairly no name rapper from Sweden. so i don't really blame him. you can download his album off his website for free. decent album too. definitely worth free.
if you can find Adam Tensta's stuff anywhere he's not bad either. both these artists have more substance in their songs than almost anything on the radio.

If you enjoy rap + video games, you guys need to check out Duane and BrandO. The videos themselves aren't as well produced, but the rhymes are super tight. Plus, they're from Flint, MI.

I give this an epic win for the visuals.
And I "blew up like the world trade" at 2:42.
Quick, anyone gonna try to list all the vg references in this vid?

I like Proto Culture by Del the Funky Homosapien better. It isn't as obnoxious or as repetitive, and it is delivered by a much better lyricist. The "163 stockhold city" was so bland and the "follow me follow me follow me" kept reminding me of twitter.
The video, on the other hand, was really good. The pato vs. reeves was my favorite part, even though it was a bit of a stretch.

I like the visuals and the theme. A surprisingly good production. I don't like rap, at all, usually because the lyrics are filled with hate and violence. This seems to be mild, and I do like the music. Just make one without the singing and that would be fine... :-)
