Swedish rapper Pato Pooh asks you to follow him into the old school
Adding himself to the short list of things we associate with Sweden other than Volvo, Ikea, and delicious meatballs, Stockholm's Pato Pooh recently released a music video for his song "Follow Me." It features a regular who's who of 8- and 16-bit era gaming in the process, referencing everything from Mega Man's opening to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He even kills off that snickering jerk dog from Duck Hunt we all love to hate. Who's laughing now, dog? Who's laughing now?!

The video was surprisingly well-made. Not bad.
Morisato @ Oct 19th 2009 6:51PM
I generally dont like the style of music so it's a given I'm not a fan of the song, but it was very well done visually. The song itself feel like a 4 minute plea to be his fan. Seems kind of desperate IMO.
kojo87 @ Oct 19th 2009 7:21PM
maybe so but he is a fairly no name rapper from Sweden. so i don't really blame him. you can download his album off his website for free. decent album too. definitely worth free.
if you can find Adam Tensta's stuff anywhere he's not bad either. both these artists have more substance in their songs than almost anything on the radio.
mahouneko @ Oct 19th 2009 6:52PM
Excellent. I totally hated that stupid dog from Duck Hunt. I'm glad that they killed him off at the end of the video. This has definitely made my day.

You might want to read the article again. Down-voted.

Awesome video. The song itself was... meh.

I hate rap and well I have to say that this is actually really good.
(01) @ Oct 20th 2009 5:50PM
Well, you weren't really listening to rap, that's probably why.
Madster @ Oct 21st 2009 7:57PM
whoa... he's living in sweden but he's a fellow Chilean like me :D
He puts the flag in several places and next to his name in the fighting section.
freaparn @ Oct 19th 2009 7:02PM
Fairly average rap song, but damned if that video wasn't crafted by someone with a lot of love for gaming. Nice work.
Haon @ Oct 19th 2009 7:05PM
You know I was just asking my self this morning "what about pun?". Its good that he still gets recognized as one of the best.

I can't believe this socialist hellhole has produced this decent piece of geekertainmnent.
MuToiD_MaN @ Oct 19th 2009 7:53PM
I think you misspelled "utopia."
kojo87 @ Oct 19th 2009 8:53PM
wow. i have never heard anyone express so much hatred for Sweden. unless you lived there for quite some time i don't think you have the right to call it a "socialist hellhole"
Rhamsey @ Oct 19th 2009 7:25PM
Not my type of music, but I did enjoy the video.
Shagittarius @ Oct 19th 2009 7:26PM
I hope he made this himself...otherwise...
sjenky @ Oct 19th 2009 7:29PM
Killer editing.. I probably couldn't even make the bullet coming out of his mega blaster..
Djiego @ Oct 19th 2009 7:47PM
Since I'm into hip hop, I thought the song was awesome.
But the video itself stole the show. They sold me at 1:28 heheheheh ^^
I do think Sonic shoulda made an appearance too though
NFK @ Oct 19th 2009 7:54PM
The song sucked and I love rap. But the video was excellent.
Grimcicle @ Oct 19th 2009 8:21PM
Let's not forget about all the melodic death metal that Sweden gives us.
jonathonfwagner @ Oct 19th 2009 9:05PM
If you enjoy rap + video games, you guys need to check out Duane and BrandO. The videos themselves aren't as well produced, but the rhymes are super tight. Plus, they're from Flint, MI.

Husher @ Oct 19th 2009 9:09PM
liked the music and the video.
idk if its just me but youtube has been loading like 10kbps
x0rn @ Oct 19th 2009 9:09PM
I give this an epic win for the visuals.
And I "blew up like the world trade" at 2:42.
Quick, anyone gonna try to list all the vg references in this vid?
Pappasman @ Oct 19th 2009 9:11PM
that was absolutely incredible.
ripslymemc @ Oct 19th 2009 9:15PM
I like Proto Culture by Del the Funky Homosapien better. It isn't as obnoxious or as repetitive, and it is delivered by a much better lyricist. The "163 stockhold city" was so bland and the "follow me follow me follow me" kept reminding me of twitter.
The video, on the other hand, was really good. The pato vs. reeves was my favorite part, even though it was a bit of a stretch.

DO A BARREL ROLL!!
as soon as i saw that, the video was over the top for me. they even did a chocolate rain reference!
NeoX360 @ Oct 19th 2009 10:41PM
I like the visuals and the theme. A surprisingly good production. I don't like rap, at all, usually because the lyrics are filled with hate and violence. This seems to be mild, and I do like the music. Just make one without the singing and that would be fine... :-)
Everready @ Oct 20th 2009 1:24AM

Great video.
ugg.tryptophan @ Oct 20th 2009 2:13AM
that 2nd rapper had a song called my cool that was popular for a second last year. the beat is killer though did he produce it?
ugg.tryptophan @ Oct 20th 2009 2:14AM
oh yeah Adam Tensta (in the title) nvr mnd
john @ Oct 20th 2009 10:52AM
Whats with the pointing? He can't keep from pointing. HAHAHA! Loser...
not bad song though. So He breaks even.
Baalzak @ Oct 20th 2009 11:21AM
Hmm... I'm not a fan of the line "Blew up like the World Trade" with the collapsing numbers. That's just poor taste there.
The rest of the video is awesome, so it's a shame.
