Nice to see some discounted pricing for the Wii owners out there.
Radiovolta @ Oct 19th 2009 4:00PM
was that sarcastic?
The
* "You Never Give Me Your Money"
* "Sun King"
* "Mean Mr. Mustard"
* "Polythene Pam"
* "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window"
* "Golden Slumbers"
* "Carry That Weight" and "The End"
* "Her Majesty"
Comes out to $11 for PS3 and Xbox if you subtract out the $2 each for the other 3 songs, while on the WII you buy these separately for a total of $13.50 if you want them all. The Wii is screwed again.
Unless i missed something / missed the sarcasm. Its hard to pick up online.
GewurztraminerX @ Oct 19th 2009 4:08PM
No sarcasm intended. For the full album it should be:
PS360 = $17
Wii = $19.50
versus full markup of all tracks individually = $22
That's how I read it anyway.
Filthy Assistant @ Oct 19th 2009 4:21PM
That's... More than the 360/PS3. Not discounted. Unless I'm missing something.
GewurztraminerX @ Oct 19th 2009 4:29PM
Yes, it is more than the other systems, but, unless I'm mistaken, this is the first time Wii owners get to buy ANY songs in a pack format. Up til now everything has been on a track by track basis, even full albums, and that adds up. Which is why I jumped ship to the 360 (at least, for Rock Band purposes).
Filthy Assistant @ Oct 19th 2009 6:18PM
Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I always got the games on 360 since that's what my friends have. Didn't know Wii users not only got inferior games but also were shafted on DLC.
linebeginstoblur @ Oct 19th 2009 6:29PM
Doesn't look like a pack format to me. Just looks like something a la "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band/With a Little Help from My Friends." I could be mistaken though..
linebeginstoblur @ Oct 19th 2009 6:31PM
"1-to-3-song sets" Yeah, I'm not mistaken. They're multiple songs in one playthrough. So the Wii still has yet to get multi-song pack downloads. :/
Fo0dNippl3 @ Oct 19th 2009 3:37PM
So when you buy the album, the songs like "Polythene Pam/She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" are single tracks, like they did with "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band/With a Little Help From My Friends"?
But they also give you the option to play "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End" as a single track, but The End is also its own song... So can you play them separately? Man I'm confused.
Pan1c42 @ Oct 19th 2009 3:38PM
I will finally be able to play my favorite Beatles Album. Maxwell's Silver Hammer will be stuck in my head for weeks.
velocirocktor @ Oct 19th 2009 3:38PM
Does this mean we can play them all as one large song, similar to how you would listen to them on the album?
NamePending @ Oct 20th 2009 2:51PM
You are able to play the songs from "You Never Give me Your Money" all the way to "Her Majesty" in one go, but not the whole album.
1251 @ Oct 19th 2009 3:39PM
lmao, they're still supporting this failure.
Ted @ Oct 19th 2009 3:44PM
lawlz whut? this is pretty much the best "band" game out there. what else to say? STFU n00b
WiiFTW @ Oct 19th 2009 3:45PM
TROLL. Ignore.
merobb @ Oct 19th 2009 3:46PM
Don't worry, I'm supporting you with the "-" button.
GewurztraminerX @ Oct 19th 2009 3:47PM
I'll take The Beatles over this:
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/19/full-band-hero-track-list-importable-songs-revealed/
anyday.
Woz @ Oct 19th 2009 3:51PM
Am I the only one that doesn't click on articles that I'm not interested in, let alone comment on said articles.
1251 @ Oct 19th 2009 3:58PM
There is no "good" band game at all.
McCartney should have kept his dignity and kept the Beatles out of this shitty fad.
Dirty @ Oct 19th 2009 4:13PM
So angry. Are you Ringo's bastard son or something?
Mr. Fister @ Oct 19th 2009 3:46PM
I just bought this album recently. It's quite epic.
Although seeing Her Majesty is a bit odd. Doesn't that song take less than 30 seconds to play?
LiqwidZero @ Oct 19th 2009 4:16PM
"Her Majesty" was actually not meant to be in the album, but it was made to be in between "Mean Mr. Mustard" and "Polythene Pam", but the sound guys weren't allowed to throw away anything, so they put "Her Majesty" at the end of the album, and the band liked it.
Listen to the end of "Mr. Mustard" and "Her Majesty" and the begining of "Polythene Pam", and you'll hear the continuing melody.
It'll make a good three piece set.
merobb @ Oct 19th 2009 3:48PM
Honestly, I'm more interested in the dreamscapes that'll be played out during these songs rather than how the songs will play.
robotoid @ Oct 19th 2009 7:55PM
too bad not every song will have a dreamscape :(
Indefinite Implosion @ Oct 19th 2009 8:38PM
@robotoid:
uhh... they will actually.
Which is awesome.

CynicalStrike @ Oct 19th 2009 3:53PM
1360 points seems steep for this, seeing as most of the songs on side 2 around only around 2 minutes long, less even.
CynicalStrike @ Oct 19th 2009 3:55PM
*...are only around 2 minutes...
CBAkiba25 @ Oct 19th 2009 3:58PM
I wonder how fast the stars fill up in Her Majesty.
Johnathan @ Oct 19th 2009 4:19PM
bip-bip-bip-bip-bip
Alright guys, I'm gonna use Beatlema--! oh.
Chief Oddball @ Oct 19th 2009 4:20PM
That'll be a quiet outing for the drummer.
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Oct 19th 2009 4:00PM
OH YEAH! OH RIGHT! GUESS WHAT'S GONNA BE IN MY DREAMS TONIGHT!
Zoidberg! @ Oct 19th 2009 8:22PM
AND IN THE END, THE LOVE YOU TAKE, IS EQUAL TO THE LOVE, YOU MAKE
GewurztraminerX @ Oct 19th 2009 4:01PM
Great, so, once we get that 16 minute medley out how about some other marathon songs for Rock Band?
Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"?
NOFX's "The Decline"?
CynicalStrike @ Oct 19th 2009 4:02PM
Rush- "2112" :D
HazyCloud @ Oct 19th 2009 4:50PM
I'll take both please.
charlie b. @ Oct 19th 2009 5:04PM
how about "The Tain" by The Decemberists?
Young_Nastyman @ Oct 19th 2009 6:47PM
Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons
Filthy Assistant @ Oct 19th 2009 4:18PM
Well this isn't worth 17 dollars. The next album is going to cost approximately eleventy zillion.
I'll probably get Maxwell's Silver Hammer, though.
B3astofthe3ast @ Oct 19th 2009 4:30PM
I'm probably going to sell the beatles soon; I loved the game, its just that I find myself not playing it anymore, and rock band 2 is what I'm back to since it actually offers a challenge. I even liked metallica better, but thats because their my favorite band and the game offers a good challenge.
so, anyone wanna buy my beatles? :D
GewurztraminerX @ Oct 19th 2009 4:42PM
so, Beatles For Sale?
Durden @ Oct 19th 2009 4:56PM
Do you play with friends (not online)? If not, you should because it makes it 10x better!
threefour @ Oct 19th 2009 5:04PM
so what youre saying is that you need Help selling your game
Peter Moore @ Oct 19th 2009 5:12PM
So you're saying that you were With the Beatles, and after you asked them "Please Please Me" for a Hard Day's Night, you decided to Let It Be, and now need Help! getting your Beatles for Sale.
I'm going to stop there, if I tired any harder, I might just put a Revolver to my head.
B3astofthe3ast @ Oct 19th 2009 5:32PM
@ Durden: Yes I have, but my friends are better at RB than I am, and they tear up expert charts like its nothing. So, in short, unless your looking at the awesome dreamscapes and listening to the awesome music, its a boring game to play. At least for those who like a challenge.
Peter Moore @ Oct 19th 2009 5:55PM
"listening to the awesome music-"
Isn't that why you buy these games? Because you like the music?
If you want totally ridiculous, pain-inducing note tracking, go buy a Guitar Hero game.
B3astofthe3ast @ Oct 19th 2009 6:15PM
Nah, Rock Band has been harder than GH for a while now. And I hate the neversoft GH games, save for metallica.
gib @ Oct 19th 2009 6:39PM
@Beast
I'm confused. You say it is not a challenge, but you also don't play on expert level?Umm. Anyone else see that obvious solution? Play the challenging difficulties... Like expert...
B3astofthe3ast @ Oct 19th 2009 7:29PM
No I play expert,where did I say I don't?
KeegdnaB @ Oct 19th 2009 4:56PM
So I'm interested to see how the dreamscene for Maxwell's Silver Hammer is gonna work.
I mean aside from context, are they going to acknowledge John's absolute hatred of the song and refusal to be a part of it's creation?
LiqwidZero @ Oct 20th 2009 10:15AM
It's actually pretty cool. It's a very simple scene, but very well done.
