Black Wii system going to Europe as part of Wii Sports Resort bundle

Nintendo UK will release the black Wii system on November 6, as part of a limited edition bundle including matching Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and MotionPlus peripherals, and both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. This bundle will be available elsewhere in Europe on November 20.

Along with the black bundle, Nintendo is releasing the black Classic Controller Pro accessory. No price has been announced for any of these items. Nintendo of America has yet to announce any plans to release any of these items -- in fact, it has announced that there are no plans. But, really, it's waiting until every holdout gets impatient and buys a white system.

How much are they, and will everywhere stock them? I seriously need a new wii, and this will match my 360 elite.

That new controller and black color scheme, make it look like what the new PS2 should look like in the future....lol

Releasing new colors must be harder than it seems it would be. No one ever really does it. Nintendo kinda pulled it off with the N64, but advertisements for multi-colored gamecubes and Wii's have never materialized. Even the PS3 had multiple colors on first announce.

Some colors of plastic probably cost more than others, but I dont think that's it. It's probably just too costly to move a production line to a new color for it to be worth it. Especially when they are still selling like mad.

What you just described is a product and pricing enhancement having nothing to do with color - and you're right in those regards - but unfortunately missed the point of the thread.

Gold memberships help MSFT generate revenue in ancillary to the console install base; finding ways to make people sign up for Gold is money/value in addtiion to the cost to purchase a console - there exists a mutual benefit to a) the customer and b) MSFT. Again, I posit that color is not a value creating enhancement because it doesn't do anything for the customer.

You might like the look of the black Wii, but it doesn't do anything for you.

Honestly,I think the black console looks ugly. To each his own. I'm keeping my pretty white Wii.

Don't see much point in ordering if there aren't any black accessories to match.

Do you mean plastic shell accessories or the accessories shown in the picture that are black? The plastic shell ones are bullshit and can be painted whatever color of the rainbow your asshole likes the most.
