Ubisoft's tentatively titled
Ghost Recon 4 may just be "
Ghost Recon: Predator" -- that is, if this
OFLC classification is any indication. The classification itself is pretty barren, save for the title of the game, the fact that it's multiplatform and it's rated MA 15+. Still, given the title, it's a pretty safe bet that this will be a
Ghost Recon game more in line with the roots of the series and not another
Advanced Warfighter -- mostly because it doesn't have "
Advanced Warfighter" in the title.
Hopefully, Ubisoft will confirm sooner rather than later. We definitely encourage the company to do so, especially if it still hopes to
get the game on shelves by March 2010.

wouldn't it be awesome if the game started out as you'd expect a Ghost Recon game to...with your squad, going about your business, before discovering skinned bodies and the grim realisation that the Predator is after your arse...
They should totally do a proper Predator game based on the Arnie original. Perhaps with the Gears of War engine?!

What are its roots? I've never played any ghost recon before the advanced warfighter's games. How is the new series diferent from the original ones?

The levels were sandbox layouts, you had far more tactical control over your squad, and the game leaned much more towards simulation than the arcadey (but still brilliant) GRAW.
The originals were minimalist too, no flash at all- definitely no red diamonds on your enemy's face. I also thought that the versus multiplayer was much better than GRAW (though I really like GRAW's Co-op MP options).
Don't get me wrong- if this release winds up being a GRAW 3 type of thing, I will play the shit out of it. Wouldn't mind seeing a return to the original form though.
