Video: Queen is the champion of Lego Rock Band
Oh, and don't expect to rent Lego Rock Band and extract all of its juicy tunes to your regular old Rock Band. Remember: you'll need a special code this time around.

Lego Freddie Mercury is entirely epic, but one cannot discount the majesty of Lego Brian May's hair.
Monica Dickey @ Oct 20th 2009 6:48PM
hahaha a fine observation. It's more like a textured hat. :)
Demaar @ Oct 21st 2009 3:14AM
I would buy Lego Rock Band Lego figures. Especially if I could get ones made up of my band as well.
Ghen @ Oct 20th 2009 3:10PM
Special code sucks :(
But I guess buying it, using code, and trading it in is ok too...
I would pay $30 to transfer songs without a special code :P
rkrocks123 @ Oct 20th 2009 3:12PM
Man, you guys say the dumbest things sometimes...
Most rentals tend to come with manuals, so as long as you're the first one to rent it/use the code you're fine.
I've done it with Track Packs...
waynski1457 @ Oct 20th 2009 3:15PM
Yeah, but that takes a bit of luck.
rkrocks123 @ Oct 20th 2009 3:21PM
Not as many people know about the codes as you'd think. Chances are, it would be rented by some parent for their kid anyways. I bought Rock Band Track Pack Vol. 2 used, and the code worked...
Candlejack @ Oct 20th 2009 3:16PM
One of those 2 songs BEST be Bohemian Rhapsody.
Apollo @ Oct 20th 2009 3:19PM
It's We Will Rock You
Sam @ Oct 20th 2009 3:21PM
lol. i'm sorry. I just pictured a little 6-7 year old coming out of his room mumbling "we are the champions" and the uber-conservative mom dives down on her knees scared to death. holding her kid by the shoulders she swings her head around to her husband and screams "MY GOD BEN, OUR SON HAS CAUGHT THE GAY!"
Apollo @ Oct 20th 2009 3:34PM
HOW DARE YOU MAKE FUN OF FREDDIE!!!!
The Pirate @ Oct 20th 2009 4:07PM
DIE IN A FUCKING FIRE BITCH!
Sam @ Oct 20th 2009 4:43PM
...dude. I wasn't making fun of Freddie. Freddie is the bee knees. I was making fun of homophobic families that will attack Lego the moment they find out he's got an song in a Lego game.
kompakter @ Oct 21st 2009 10:12PM
Um, have you been to a sporting event in the last 2 decades...? I think it's okay.
GewurztraminerX @ Oct 20th 2009 3:35PM
Can't wait for Block Band
Torque_AOD @ Oct 21st 2009 2:46PM
Has the guardian of metal once said. "Oh, I hate Puns."
Emblazin @ Oct 20th 2009 11:30PM
No, I believe he has not.
Dr. Ew @ Oct 20th 2009 3:41PM
Will the export license go both ways?
I know I'll want to add Lego's tracks to my already large list of RB2 DLC but suppose there's some stuff I want to play block-ified, too?
Mr. Bungo @ Oct 20th 2009 3:54PM
They've announced that previous Rock Band DLC will work in Lego Rock Band, with the caveat that some songs will be filtered out for non-family-friendly content, like drug references.
We'll have to see what gets filtered once the game comes out. It could be amusing to see what slips through, or frustrating if the filtering's a bit aggressive. "White Rabbit," for instance is about drugs, but mostly references Alice in Wonderland, a kid's story. Will that fly? I kinda doubt it.
Since the notion of what's appropriate for a family game will definitely differ from person to person, I think some folks will be fine with the selection, and some folks will be bummed.
jorojoserojas @ Oct 21st 2009 2:44PM
Yes, Lego Rock Band tracks will be exportable to your Rock Band 2 collection.
Discotheque @ Oct 20th 2009 3:55PM
I'll buy this on the cheap for sure. I'm not willing to buy another music game so soon after buying Beatles Rock Band.
Man, Freddie's got a very good voice. It's going to kill my lungs. What's next? Pavarotti Hero?
Dummy00001 @ Oct 20th 2009 4:00PM
The Queen is the best rock band of all times.
Period.
All Beatles fans can go to hell.
The Pirate @ Oct 20th 2009 4:08PM
I actually love both...so you can go to hell :)
JEV4 @ Oct 20th 2009 5:36PM
Why are you comparing Queen and the Beatles in the first place?
Drahken @ Oct 20th 2009 4:45PM
Goddamn. Queen is the best band ever, with so many great songs, and the two that people continually fixate on are friggin "We are the Champions" and "We Will Rock You". Those aren't even two of their better songs. "How about Seven Seas of Rhye" or "Hammer to Fall"?
The Pirate @ Oct 20th 2009 4:51PM
Those 2 songs (we will rock you and we are the champions) are the only songs those guys know. They are just jumping on the bandwagon without knowing fuck all about Queen. Personally my 2 fave songs are Big Bottomed girls and Killer Queen. Both of those are coming to Rock Band 2 on Thursday....:D
Spike (GT: SitriStahl) @ Oct 20th 2009 4:58PM
but will freddie be a puppet so i can make him sing "you give love a bad name", then i can upload it to youtube, and get harmonix sued?
Yingerman @ Oct 20th 2009 6:29PM
is it just me, or was that singer too good? he never even came close to being off tune
Spike (GT: SitriStahl) @ Oct 20th 2009 7:10PM
autoplay is a lazy person's best friend
Jonathan @ Oct 20th 2009 6:43PM
no fat bottom girls that make the rockin world go round?
Spike (GT: SitriStahl) @ Oct 20th 2009 7:11PM
just get it for $2 off the RB music store
Ace @ Oct 20th 2009 6:46PM
It'd be cool if lego included Queen Minifigures with the game.
Or they could pull another 'White Stripes'.
R2DJ @ Oct 21st 2009 2:48AM
WTH? No more drum fills for OD activation? Did they pull a GH now and OD can be activated anytime? I'm not speculating already but I like having the drum fills especially when it comes to activating OD...
Fane [A-MF Brigade] @ Oct 21st 2009 5:40AM
I can't get the video to run smoothly, so I'm not sure that this applies to L:RB, but in TB:RB overdrive for drums works more or less as in RB2, but the fills are replaced with the normal charts and you only have to hit the final crash note to engage overdrive. I prefer it, but would rather have a hybrid that shows the normal charts, but allows fills.
HappyFunBall @ Oct 21st 2009 1:44PM
Please don't let them gimp the Wii version and let it not have access to the DLC... :-/
