Microsoft's Major Nelson has announced that Halo Waypoint -- the upcoming Xbox Live locus of all things Halo -- will be included in the 360 Dashboard update preview program. Those lucky enough to get into the preview should be notified this week, and Major Nelson tells Joystiq that Halo Waypoint should be rolling out on the preview sometime next week.
Microsoft recently revealed more details surrounding the service, most notably how the "career system," which will track in-game accomplishments from all the Halo games available on the Xbox 360. The destination's launch is scheduled for November 5, so preview participants should get a significant chunk of time with before it goes public. Don't worry if you don't make it into the preview, we'll be sure to share our hands-on impressions next week.

so i thought the halo career part thingy would just simply a reproduction of your bungie stats page. but it is totally new and different like grouping achievements together for a specific "award". so that is cool i guess. hopefully i get into the preview program so i can try this out.

Don't forget that the new update also disables all non-Microsoft Memory Units. This sucks for people who like carrying around more than 3 rock band tracks, and a whole buncha people who don't know any better and are gonna lose there game saves and everything. Petition to let the Memory Units continue to work

sign and pass along to keep Micro$oft honest and keep them from bullying out competition and forcing customers to pay for those insanely expensive Memory Units and HDD.

insanley expensive? what do you get yours gold plated or something.... they're dirt cheap! and they're not getting banned to bully you into buying their own stuff, its cus date are selling cheat save software included in some memory units, which is against the EULA, read your it next time you buy a console and youll discover that nintendo/sony/microsoft actually have the right to take your console off you. no joke!

The software is unnecessary for "cheat save" which is actually game save swapping which can be done with a regular Microsoft Memory Unit also. And yes $25 for 512MB is insanely expensive compared to $40 for 2 gig thats upgradable via cheap MicroSD memory. So Microsoft would charge around $100 for a 2 gig stick using their metric. I'm not sure how to reply to your comment but trust me I have spent hours verifying my comments through talking with game save swappers and modders, the 3rd party is not necessary. Read the whole petition then discuss with me cavemailman@gmail.com

This is the first time I heard what Halo Waypoint is actually supposed to be. I thought it was an XBLA game or something.
