Earthworm Jim now launching cows on iPhone

In addition to the download-anywhere convenience and painful controller substitution, the iPhone/iPod Touch release lets you play your own iPod music as you play. That should be a welcome addition to one intentionally annoying level.
After the break, see gameplay footage captured by Touch Arcade.

Shmil @ Oct 21st 2009 8:39PM

Get Assassin's Creed on Steam, if you have an account. (I don't, but just sayin')
Special Agent Steve @ Oct 21st 2009 8:48PM
Already have Assasins Creed. I'm saving my Steam monies for Borderlands :D.

Earthworm Jim,
he's such a groovy guy
Earthworm Jim,
he's flying through the sky
Yeah I used to watch the cartoon. And If you know these lyrics it means you used to watch it too.
Reuben @ Oct 21st 2009 8:57PM
Not only did I watch it, but I had some of the action figures when I was a little kid.

Earthworm Jim
The soil he did crawl
Earthworm Jim
A super suit did fall
Jim was just a dirt eating
Chewing length of worm flesh
But all that came to a crashing end
Ha ha ha!
Earthworm Jim
He’s such a groovy guy
Earthworm Jim
He rockets through the sky
Hurtling through the universe
Having lots of fun
Here comes Earthworm Jim
You know that he’s the mighty one
Look out!
-Whistling interlude-
Despite his great big muscles
And his really big ray gun
Jim is still an earthworm
But then he’s the only one
With a super suit to make him really super strong,
Jim can be a winner if we only sing along…
Alright!
Earthworm Jim
We think he’s mighty fine
Earthworm Jim
A hero for all time
Earthworm
Earthworm
Earthworm
Earthworm Jim
Hooray for Jimmmmmmm
Groovy!

My memory is blurring my eyes or this "remake" is looking more like a .... port ?
Captain Planet [Planeteer | Power of Captain Planet] @ Oct 21st 2009 8:51PM
The controls are fucking RIDICULOUS in this game. I can't get past the fucking second crow ON THE FIRST FUCKING LEVEL. I've tried the d-pad and the virtual analog stick and this shit is near impossible...
...or I just completely fucking suck.
commen-cents @ Oct 21st 2009 10:20PM
well... there is a difficulty setting. the controls arent great but come on, the second crow?!
Shadow Hog @ Oct 21st 2009 9:50PM
So how IS this port, anyway? Is Big Bruty present? Can you use the original Sega CD soundtrack (or SNES, or Genesis, whichever)? Is the animation awkward compared to the original, as the videos implied?
Succulent @ Oct 21st 2009 9:56PM
Too bad the voicing is different, that was really part of Jim.
Unless it's just regional differences that I don't know about.
Succulent @ Oct 21st 2009 10:02PM
Just looked up the SNES version on Youtube, it's actually pretty similar.
Guess my memory just sucks :P
Maxathon @ Oct 22nd 2009 1:29AM
No thank you to any game that does on-screen controls like this.
