London's Leicester Square to host Modern Warfare 2 midnight bash
Late-night revelers and iron-sight junkies situated near London should note that Activision plans a proper launch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at Leicester Square, on the night before the game's November 10 launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Hip square visitors to-be can gape at the shooter's action on the nearby ODEON's cinema screen, purchase it from the HMV Trocadero at the stroke of midnight, and then give Tom Cruise a solid high five on the way home.
There's also talk of a secret VIP party in an underground bunker, set to feature "one of the UK's biggest male artists of 2009." Don't tell anyone, but we heard they'll also have dedicated servers there. They'll bring you whatever drink you want.

Does anyone else think there's going to be a massive fan protest somewhere near that area at the same time? (Mostly regarding dedicated servers)

You think us PC gamers are going to come out of our basements when there's plenty of useless petitions to be filed? ; )

I just hope the tactical spawn perk can't be combined with Martyrdom.I had enough of respawn-nades in Killzone 2.It makes sabotage frrruuustrating.
Discotheque @ Oct 21st 2009 5:06PM
Are you serious? They threw "tactical spawn" in this game too? I wasn't planning on picking up COD anyways, but man if Killzone 2 is any indication that perk alone is game-breaking.
Multiplayer went to shit in Killzone 2 when Sabotage mode came on. 2 opposing spawn points beside each other FTL.
Durden @ Oct 21st 2009 5:24PM
@Disco Agreed 100%. KZ2 multiplayer could have been so much better with a few tweaks. It's still fun though.
Discotheque @ Oct 21st 2009 5:26PM
Sorry for reply spam but I also had to add that I'm not even touching Killzone 3 unless it has:
A) Good single player campaign
and
B) No tactician class. Worst...class....ever
Mr.ESC @ Oct 21st 2009 6:10PM
The Tactician isn't bad it just needs some limitations. For example being able to throw a spawn point inside the enemy spawn base is completly broken. If you could only do that at specific points it would be helpful.
Also the tactician should have control over its sentrybot, that thing is mostly useless.
Another thing I noticed is that the Helghast spawn points are basically unguarded anyone at any point can go inside and start killing.
Something like the Tf2 barriers would've been helpful also the Medic class is worthless most of the time. The fact you can only revive 1 team mate at a time sucks,it takes forever to be able to revive another team mate.
I don't know why but KZ2 is a game in which logic would dictate that I would totally ubber suck at it and even so I manage to win with a huge K/D ratio without knowing what I am doing. It is either natural skill or the game isn't well thought.
I found KZ2 much more fun online when we all had one assault rifle,2 greandes and 1 pistol.Archaic perhaps but it was fun.
About the single player it has a good start and a good ending but I felt levels 2 through 5 are filler.

A midnight bash, eh?
Such as people bashing the PC versions lack of dedicated server support?
Oh dear. Now we have organized protests.
