PC version of Wolfenstein gets crash-fixing patch
Though the PC version of Wolfenstein has been out for nearly two months now, the game's been persistently affected by a number of minor bugs. Nothing really huge, mind you -- just a handful of game-crashing, save file-corrupting, SecuROM-breaking errors which are capable of completely crippling your enjoyment of the title. Like we said, no biggie.
Fortunately, id Software recently released patch 1.11 for the title, which is designed to fix all of the above bugs, effectively restoring your Nazi-massacring experience. Sadly, the patch doesn't include a fix for the glitch which prevents Robo-Hitler from spawning at any point in the game. What gives, guys?
[Thanks, Merrick.]

Bleh at Sony SecuROM. I know why companies use it, but at the same time, it gets in the way

I hate the new console mentality to gaming that seems to be prevailing these days - release it unprepared and patch later, or release extra DLC later that should've already be included. This, and Far Cry 2 are prime examples of it.

Yeah, I mean - it's nothing mind blowing, but it's a fun if generic shooter. And pretty too, at least to my non-Crysis playing eyes. Looks as good on my two year old laptop as anything I've seen on 360.

Oh WTF comment system, that was to Shagittarius.

I didn't know people were still playing this game. I played RTCW in CAL, BoB and BoB2. To me, RTCW was the best team based game of all time, and yes I've played CS...But this game is trash. The MP40 sounds like a paintball gun and the mechanics are awful. I really wanted this to succeed but I just don't see it happening. RTCW had such a following with mods and games broadcast on WOLFTV and even had announcers. This game...not so much.

where's the patch that makes this game fun?
briankun @ Oct 21st 2009 10:10AM
Thanks for the heads-up! I'm at around 75% and would probably throw my mouse across the room if I lost my save game files. Can't wait to see what the final boss fight is like!

I finished this game without encountering any bugs, also I really enjoyed it. Everyone crapping on it has obviously not played it.

Agreed. This was a really enjoyable Wolfenstein title, at least for single player.

I admit to downloading the demo on XBLA. That's embarrassing enough.
Caenicus @ Oct 22nd 2009 1:15AM
Joking aside, it wasn't bad. I just felt like a brick running around aimlessly in a generic Austrian castle. I'm glad you like it, I just don't find that sort of thing appealing anymore.
Ryan @ Oct 21st 2009 4:42PM
I should have been more specific. As an SP game it is fun and enjoyable and I played it with no bugs. I was speaking only to the MP portion of the game which is why I purchased the game.
Caenicus @ Oct 22nd 2009 1:10AM
Hand-to-forehead. There is no patching this game.
