Resident Evil and Street Fighter join the Capcom music store

For the longest time, we didn't understand game soundtracks. "Hey, just turn the game on and walk away," we said. But after our 17th red ring and 10th Cell chip to commit melty, plasticy suicide, we quickly began to see the value.

Capcom's feeding our new habit with three new additions to the Music section of the Capcom Store: Ten Years Of Resident Evil: The Official Soundtrack, Resident Evil 5: Original Soundtrack and Street Fighter IV: Original Soundtrack. If you too are hesitant about leaping into game soundtracks, Capcom's sweetening the offer with 25 percent off the Mega Man 9 score for anyone who purchases one of the new offerings.

I'm a long time Resident Evil fan (My first was RE2) but I'm not really interested in their soundtracks... I mean, they are suitable in the game but I wouldn't listen to them otherwise.

I started with RE2, as well.. The best one in the series, IMO. So much replayability, good weapons, and Claire^_^ And then they go off and change things in RE4..

I own the 10 years of Resident Evil soundtrack. Have owned it since November 2007. Capcom, it would seem, is late to their own party.

The song I most associate with Resident Evil has always been Moonlight Sonata. They obviously weren't going to put it on because it's not part of the original score, but it deserves to be on there. Also makes me think of Shadowman's opening sequence. But I digest....

I find it hard to believe that they would sell even one copy of that horrid SF4 soundtrack, unless someone was buying it to use for a practical joke.
