XSEED bringing Korg DS-10 Plus to North America

The improved synthesizer suite will also have wireless functionality, allowing up to eight systems to play together or share samples and Daft Punk songs with each other.

Wow, didn't even know that existed, but damn, that UI is uuuuuuuuuggg-eh-leee.

The UI looks pretty good (and gets the job done). It's loosely based on the Korg MS-10 (and various other synths).
While this was a fun cross between a serious synth and a musical toy, the improvements don't really seem to justify buying it again, especially if it's region-locked (wtf). I don't have DSi yet but I will probably get a European one - or now I have to faff around and order one from the US, in order to get titles sooner etc? God damn.
(Yes, I knew DSi was region-locked, but I thought that was only for software from the online shop...)

The interface is pretty consistent with Korg synthesizers.
Probably the best review of the original if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UB1AZPXJoA

You can preorder it here http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-buyj-71-ba-49-en-84-j-70-3kr6.html
But if you are an importer and have Japanese DSi, you can get it right now http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-buyj-71-9g-49-en-84-j-70-3gt6.html

is there no way to block people like this?
digiboi @ Oct 21st 2009 10:52AM
If only it would allow export to a computer based application - then you could have a little sketch tool to take on the go.
Taiko Drum Grandmaster @ Oct 21st 2009 10:56AM
The second is the thing I play on my DS the most. I CAN'T WAIT for this one.
I've actually been purchasing KAOSS and Micro synths from Korg. I love them...
This is honestly one of the most fun thing I've done on DS. And I get the extra effects. :D
Taiko Drum Grandmaster @ Oct 21st 2009 10:57AM
I've actually done some sets when I mix online where I used it instead of my KAOSS pad before I had the full synth.

LOL I just got my DS-10 like a month ago.
Jose [Steam & PSN: Assmar] @ Oct 21st 2009 12:06PM
Are you racist against block people or something?
SparkyT @ Oct 21st 2009 12:12PM
This software was the main reason I bought a DSi. Hope they bring the tuner/metronome/chord finder apps to DSiware NA too. Exporting midi files via SD would be nice.
Rifle-Man @ Oct 21st 2009 12:21PM
No way! It's good to see that the original was popular enough to warrant making a more advanced version.
I actually have 2 copies of DS-10 – I completely filled all of the save slots of the first one.
And by the way, I love the UI. It's super old-school. Anyone who cut their teeth on Propellerheads Rebirth RB-338 will totally appreciate the simplicity.
Faceman @ Oct 21st 2009 7:58PM
wuts the point if u can't export ur work???
kid_ic @ Oct 22nd 2009 11:49AM
Pumped for this. Gave my musician brother the first DS Korg after I saw the teaser trailer for Korg-DS10+.
Along w/ me getting a surprising amount of use out of the DSi's cameras, the increasingly endearing DSiware lineup (FlipNote, Mario & Donkey Kong, Dragon Quest Wars, Art Style, Mighty Flip Champs, Domo and the upcoming Game & Watch and Bomberman Blitz!), and newly announced DSi enhanced/exclusives like this, Monster Finder, and Spidy, I'm reaaally glad I updated from my phat to the DSi!
