Assassin's Creed 2 head Patrice Désilets and MGS: Peace Walker head Hideo Kojima had a war of compliments in the most recent issue of Famitsu. It seems that the two gentlemen have a bit of a game industry bromance going on, lauding the other's current project in a back and forth translated by 1UP. "I think there are three games that stand out above the rest of the pack in the remainder of this year. One is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, one is Uncharted 2, and the third is Assassin's Creed II," said Kojima.
"If I had to give my impression of Peace Walker, I'd have to say that I want to play more," Désilets responded. "It was great fun; I can't wait for the retail version." Kojima expanded a bit on his appreciation for Désilets' "focus on game design" over style, and said that he's currently considering the possibility of them "maybe, kinda" going steady. Okay, we made up that last part.

Wow 2 crappy developers praising each other. Great.
Sorry about that comment. I withdraw what I said about the Ubi guy. AC2 hasn't come out yet. But if it's anything like the first one (minus the decent story), then I have no regrets...at all.

You should die, Kojima and Desilets are fucking awesome and have enough battlefield experience to do the job right.

What was that chum? You better watch what you say or I'll have a crate of lions delivered straight to your bedroom.
Where do you think we got our name? Because our logo is a lion? Ha, no. It's because we use lions to devour the heads of our enemies.
Cheers!

Was there any Metal Gear references in Assassin's Creed 1? not sure didn't play it. I would like to imagine Konami didn't just do free marketing for Assassin's Creed for nothing, so I would like to expect a Metal Gear costume although it may be out of place, in Assassin's Creed 2. Bad sadly, I think im too much of a Metal Gear fanboy that if the costume or reference is good enough, I'll buy AC2 just for that. but I love the stealth genre, so maybe i should look into AC1 and see how that rolls.

I admit I'm growing a bit tired of Kojima and all the rumors and non news that seems to follow him...some by his own doing. His games aren't really good enough for modern design to warrant all this attention anymore. It was fine 5 years ago, but not after 4 (which was only even playable thanks to Ryan Payton)

Really? Because I would love it if Ryan Payton would have not helped at all on MGS4. Maybe then we could have had a another MGS instead of a new shooter. Sure it gives us a choice whether to sneak or not but you get so much more rations and its so much easier now to fight when you get caught. I wish it was more of a traditional MGS instead, but it's a good game anyway.
Westernization ftw.

The westernization of that game was the only reason it was only halfway playable. Otherwise, it would have been another japanese game with archaic controls and design.

MGS3 was good, but it would've been even better with MGS4's current control set.
MGS4 was too lean on gameplay on the 2nd half.

I wouldn't put too much stock into his praise. He said the same thing about the first one as well.

If you enjoyed the first, then pick up the second. If you didn't like the first, then either pass on this one or rent it. In other words, don't let your opinion of the game be swayed by his comments since he said the same thing about the first game.
