Looks great. Though given the fact the first one was a 5 hour game, multiplayer used the same content, they sold it for $60, they promised free/affordable DLC and gave nearly nothing, and decided to move onto yet another $60 product instead of updating the last one, I can't say I'm not a little bit upset with Valve.

Say what you want, but I'm on a super tight budget, and with only maybe one or two game purchases for the rest of the year, I'd rather spend my money on a series that didn't burn me with the previous installment to bring out a new one.

Maybe I'll get it used or off eBay for cheap early next year, but as of now I'm not buying it. Simple as that.

I found it ironic that a game with little content compared to a game like CoD gave me so many hours of pleasure. I've lost count how much I've played L4D.
In fact I've put myself on a break from L4D untill 2 comes out because I play way too much.

A five-hour game? Jesus wept, with all respect, I can't believe people still think about L4D in this way.

It's clear to *anybody* who spent time with the game that those levels weren't meant to be played once and then forgotten about forever. In most FPSs, maybe that's the case: after all, enemies and items are in the same place every time.

Play a L4D level a thousand times over, and I can guarantee no playthrough will be exactly the same. The AI Director will throw different beasties - common and Special - in at different stages every single time. The result? Different situations and obstacles each time you play. Several hundred hours of gameplay later, L4D still produces hilarious stories and anecdotes of heroism and stupidity *all the time* for me.

It is not a "five-hour game," and if you feel it is, then I'm afraid you are missing the point quite spectacularly.

Didn't realize that a design structure that promotes replaying the same content over and over again and an AI system that randomizes content was a justification for a serious lack of that content.

If you wanna sit here and say that the AI Director justifies a $60 purchase, then by all means, you do that. I spent quite a bit of time with Left 4 Dead and enjoyed playing it, but at the end of the day it was something that got horribly repetitive both with co-op and versus because it was the same four 1+ hour campaigns OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

That game needed more content, and they promised more of it, both free and affordably priced, and they scrapped most of those plans to try and convince me to drop another $60 on a brand new game. THAT is why this is fucked up.

It's got five hours of original content. And by simple numeric standards that makes it a five hour game. Get over it.

Zombie Apocalypse. . . every Survivor turns into some form of Action Hero, trailes looks awesome though, hands down.
I'm still sceptic, L4D 1 got boring for me after having played every campaign like 3-4 times. . . ( that would be . . less than a week for me ).

Not sure if I'm going to get L4D 2, what I see looks promising but yet I feel like it's just going to be a L4D that looks a bit prettier with some minor things like a couple of new enemies you can count with a hand. . aswell as some new weapons. Will play a friends version first and then wait till it gets a price drop. Do not want to risk being disappointed after having pre-ordered L4D 1 which was still a good game. . but overall turned out to be a letdown for me. Might just be me, meh. . .

It appears that I'll be blowing off MW2 now, because this, Borderlands and Forza 3 are the only games I will have time for this holiday season.

Damnit Valve, you've convinced me otherwise...but that's how love (for Valve) works.

Fair enough. I just think that 5 hours of content deserved some expansion and support before it was dropped all together to focus on another game I'd have to go buy if I wanted to continue the Left 4 Dead experience with more content.

This game would benefit greatly from a single-player/coop actual story mode, besides the regular "get to the chopper" stages. I mean, the characters and their relationship look really fun.
