I like the look of the single handed control. Plus it looks to even beat the 360's god-like, high precision, high comfort d-pad!

So we can actually use a mouse for a PS3 game now (i.e. MW2)?

Well, I'll still use the Dualshock 3, but at least the choice is there.

it's not a real mouse.

i bought the last revision of this "fragfx" (never really even used the damn thing, so am a bit pissed they have a cordless version now - the wires are really annoying).

anyway the "mouse" isn't a real mouse as such, it just emulates the right analogue stick movement, so it can be quite jerky, not like a real mouse. it doesn't work great for all games, for example it is shit in Killzone 2 because of their weird delayed controls... i heard it worked well in COD4 but don't own that game so dont know, so it may work well in MW2

overall the thing is cheap looking, cheap plastic feel... buttons are programmable, and the nunchuck bit has sixaxis

if you do get one, just don't expect it to be anything like a PC mouse/PC Gaming, it isn't. if you're coming from PC gaming to PS3, it is an improvement over using analogue sticks which you're just not used to, but it will be nothing like a real mouse, not as precise also don't expect it to work great on all games, you can change the sensitivity, but as i said it sucks on Killzone 2... generally you have to spend time tweaking it some to find the right setting for you

as for people who don't like it or think its unfair - no it isn't, you can get one too, they're for sale for everybody, and honestly it isn't anything like a real mouse (unless they've seriously improved this revision). somebody who is good at analogue stick FPS gaming would kick my ass easily if I was using this thing.

I dont have the thing but I've played COD4 and killzone 2 and I dont think the issue is with the mouse itself. Killzone 2 has a lag input no matter what you use so even using the analog sticks is hard when playing killzone 2.

sorry yeh thats what i meant, its terrible in killzone 2 because of that input lag

ive only got 2 fps games for ps3, killzone 2 and bad company, it works ok on bad company, not great but a lot better than killzone 2.

I had the old one and it was alright. Like he said it isnt like a regular mouse and cant be like a regular mouse. Most games dont support mouse input so it just emulates the right stick. I mainly used mine on ut3 and owned with it. You need to mess with both in game settings and the dial on the fragchuck. It also take quite a bit to get used to. I played with it on killzone 2 and it was fine. its the same with every game you just really need to mess with the settings. put the sensitivity on high and that should do it. Oh an yeah i know several people who had the old one including me that it broke on us. the mouse just stoped responding. I think its something with the cables or something.

It doesn't work well with Killzone 2 because the game itself has a lock on the sensitivity.

On the other hand, it works extremely well in Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Tell you, I wouldn't passed that level where you were alone without the FragFX.

It honestly works like a real mouse: Left-click to shoot, etc.

coming from alot of years in pc playing, i aquired a ps3 and killzone2 some months ago. but after a week i discovered the horrors of using a controller in fps. then read a review of the fragfxv2. after testing it, im not goin back, it does kinda replace the mouse feel pretty good, if you just cant get used to using controller in an fps like me. it just takes alot of tweaking and setting up, but killzone2 is actually fkn awesome with it. i usually get a kd ratio of 2:1, which i just never could with a controller. so if anyone whos an ex pc player who wanna try something different, fragfxv2 is for you. it can be configured and firmware upgraded via windows. aftter the latest patch for kz2 it only improved as well.

i have the fragfxv2 also, i thought it was rubbish on Killzone 2 though with the delayed controls the game has... not tried it recently if there was some sort of new patch that helps it

i heard it works a lot better on Cod4 tho (so prolly will work well on MW2). anyway it is helpful for those (like me) who came from pc gaming and just cannot use analogue sticks at all.... but it in no way makes it feel like a true mouse or true pc gaming, it is only emulating the analogue stick so movement of it is still limited

i think i need to dust off Killzone 2 again... hell i never even finished singleplayer, was on one of the last missions at the palace, but just couldnt beat it, was on the balcony and waves and waves or enemies would come and i'd be there for 20 mins just killing them and wasn't progressing anywhere... i was prolly doing something wrong but it pissed me off so i put it away and never went back to it :P

High-Precision is an option they added to a patch several months ago, it decreases the reticle acceleration the game used before. it's actually quite nice. also, you were mere minutes from the end of the game when you quit, depending on how quickly you can take out Radec. once you kill the last of those waves of enemies on the second floor catwalks, he comes out and cheaps his way to victory a couple of times, then you figure out how to destroy him. there's a trophy for beating him in under 20 minutes. my time (including deaths) ended at 19:35, lol. fire it back up, man!

'Chucks are the new black. I tried the Frag Pro at E3 and decided right then and there that the Wii Nunchuk was one of the greatest ever innovations for FPS gaming. You get the benefits of analog movement in one hand and pair it with a precision controller (mouse, Wiimote, PSWand) in the other for aiming. The Frag Pro is PC compatible, and the build quality is improved over the Frag FX. I hope Splitfish will try marketing it to PC gamers, because 'chucks are so much more comfortable and practical than those keyboard-styled controllers.

I still have a hard time understanding why developers don't just add KB/M support for the console versions...the consoles are, themselves, just glorified PC's. I'm sure it's just extra work for them after tweaking controller schemes, but it sure would be nice to have the option.

i wonder this also, and really dont know why... maybe they think ppl dont want to use a mouse, since they're sitting on a couch or whatever and dont have a desk to put it on?

it annoys me really, since everyone is pushing this motion controller nonsense now --- if they don't have a major problem giving us alternative controllers like motion control, why not give us a mouse/keyboard option as well.

It's because of the increased accuracy. If a multiplayer game had true M/Kb support, the M/Kb players would dominate every time. This is just a mouse shaped version of a right stick. It works pretty well, but is definitely not as twitchable as the real deal.

I'm against this type of thing

if they get popular we are all going to have to purchase one of these monstrosities just to stay competitive.

Obviously, twin analogue sticks are not as accurate as a mouse but it's all relative to the competition, if everyone is on the same level there is no issue in my eyes. If we start having a controller arm race it just means paying out more money for crap that just puts us back where we were when everyone had controllers

yeh but the mouse on the fragfx only emulates the analogue stick movement, so it is still somewhat limited and does not feel like a real mouse, its an improvement for people coming from pc gaming who can't use analogue sticks to save their life, but it isn't the same as a pc mouse.

anyway i don't think it is too much a problem, consoles have always had different controllers that had a better competitive edge... turbo buttons and fight sticks

i do think and wish that they would just allow us plug in a real mouse into our console and let us all play with a real mouse, true pc mouse (none of this emulated nonsense) is the only real way to play an FPS, analogue sticks are so limited :(

I used the last version, the wired one, and i never got to the point where i felt comfortable with the mouse, it was always either not sensitive enough, or way too sensitive, to the point that your cursor would jerk around. i also HATED the wires. finally, the mouse buttons didn't click, they just sort of... mushed...

from what i've heard so far, this version takes care of all of my problems with the last version. the last one ALMOST worked well for CoD4, so if this one works better, it might be AMAZING. and to everyone else that complained about the last one not working well for KZ2, try it with High-Precision mode on (in the game). that was actually my best experience with the thing.

if anyone actually purchases one of these, please let me know what you think. my PSNID is - freakwincy42

the original one was a piece of crap. Stay far away. I bought it in hopes of carrying over some of my love for PC gaming to a console. But alas....it can't happen. The thing itself felt like a complete piece of plastic crap and the buttons were very sticky. The trigger (one where you shoot your gun for most games) didn't even fit into the place on the controller properly.

This thing actually works pretty well... once you tweak the settings for each game you use it on. However it will never be as precise as a mouse on a PC.

None the less... it's pointless because we know the "real" competitive games all play FPS games on the PC.

MW1 on the PS3 was a joke of 12-year old spawn-sniping campers.

lol, i know i'm in the minority here, but i'm much more proficient with the dualshock than the 360's controller. the button layout feels more comfortable to me, especially with those Gioteck triggers on it - http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/5675248/Gioteck-Real-Triggers-For-PS3/Product.html. i don't care for the offset layout of the analog sticks on 360, it feels awkward to me, but the 360s triggers are excellent.

Gimmicky? Well maybe to you, but to us PC gamers looking to play a few PS3 exclusives, it's a God-send! I got the wired version yesterday and sat down to play some inFamous, and while it's not as quick or accurate as a proper PC setup, it makes the game playable for me, and that's saying something.

There are a couple problems with it: The mouse could be more ergonomic, the L/R click are soft, not clicky, and because it's approximating the movement of an analog stick, it's still slower and smoother than it would be on a PC. All these complaints are made up for by the fact that I can play PS3 exclusive games without giving up because the controls just don't work for me.
