Keighley promises even better exclusives at the VGAs
We're not convinced that Spike TV had the most quality people handling their interviews on the red carpet of the Scream 2009 awards. As you can see in this video interview, the ham 'n' egger behind the camera actually asked Geoff Keighley how he gets so many exclusives when everybody knows Geoff Keighley secretes exclusives glandularly.
The interviewer does do one thing right though, getting Keighley to promise that he'll have even better exclusives than last year in the 2009 VGA ceremony. He's made similar promises in the past and delivered, most notably during last year's show in which God of War 3 debuted. We just can't imagine how much spicy food he'll have to eat to pull that off.
That's right ... Geoff Keighley is basically Turbo Teen.

"most notably during last year's show in which God of War 3 debuted"
Yeah I remember when they showed a 20 second CG trailer that looked pretty bad cause it was in an early form. I look forward to even more CG game announcements this year /sarcasm

Last time I watched the VGAs... was the FIRST and the LAST time.
I seemed to remember something like Madden '05 winning every award possible much to my anger. Have things changed since then?
I promised myself I would never trust a video game program on TV again. I seem to remember the Xbox 360 debut on MTV reaffirming this promise as well.
Vcize @ Oct 23rd 2009 9:20AM
Madden '05 was actually pretty well done. It was in '06 that everything went to hell.
Mr Khan @ Oct 23rd 2009 9:46AM
iirc they did much better in terms of distribution of nominations and actual awards last year. They're getting closer to something resembling a legitimate show
still nothing that a Nintendo fanboy as myself would have any cause to be interested in, but for your average gamer, the show is getting pretty good in terms of giving awards where they belong

"still nothing that a Nintendo fanboy as myself would have any cause to be interested in,"
Yeah, why don't they give us stuff to watch it for?
Geeky @ Oct 23rd 2009 8:38AM
Geoff Keighley just annoys the shit out of me.
Collymilad @ Oct 23rd 2009 8:44AM
I can't believe everyone is so hyped about GoW3.
It's a friggin HACK N SLASH. Big fing deal.
Rory @ Oct 23rd 2009 9:56AM
Have you ever played GOW. The term Hack n Slash doesn't even come close to describing this series. Go troll somewhere else.
Vcize @ Oct 23rd 2009 9:20AM
What's a fing deal?
Xenuxenu @ Oct 23rd 2009 9:28AM
I can't believe that you can't believe it! Big fing deal.
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Oct 23rd 2009 10:35AM
I'm pretty sure God of War is a hack and slash game, it's a very good genre defining Hack and Slash but a Hack and slash nonetheless.
That's like saying that Forza isn't a racing game because it's so good.
Discotheque @ Oct 23rd 2009 1:54PM
Genre-defining? ROFL. I don't think so. They are solid games though, no doubt.
Rory @ Oct 23rd 2009 2:18PM
@WINterfang
No, just no. GoW is an action game. Killing things (what you think of as Hack-n-slash) is one of few things that defines the series. There are also puzzles and a decent character upgrading system (spending orbs on magic or the different weapons.) Calling it Hack-n-Slash means that it is boring and repetitive. And your description of Forza is off as well. Forza is a racing Sim. As opposed to an arcade racer like Midnight club or Need for Speed. Go back to your drawing board.

Who is the chick standing next to him? I wouldn't mind seeing her debut some things...

eNrique @ Oct 23rd 2009 12:13PM
She's hot.
And by hot, I mean SMOKING HOT.
GRT @ Oct 26th 2009 4:08PM
How can you be reading a gaming site like this one and not know who Amanda MacKay is? She's one of Keighley's co-hosts and is all over gametrailers, too.
Did anyone else notice the unicorn in the background? WTF?
And Navarro is an total ass.
tmmoore_nc @ Oct 23rd 2009 9:27AM
So...we'll find out what these are in 6 to 7 hours?
Lurkero @ Oct 23rd 2009 10:30AM
Thanks Jeff. I'll be sure to NOT watch the VGAs and visit Gametrailers.com the next day to see the clips.
AsherR [Planeteer | Power of The Hoff] @ Oct 23rd 2009 10:42AM
Despite some people complaints, I really like Keighley. He can be such an jerk with trying to pry out information from the people he interviews, which is a good thing of course.
Dr. Bradwart @ Oct 23rd 2009 11:02AM
Ah, the Video Game 'Awards'...where they give out awards involving Mountain Dew...
Spike needs to cancel this crap. Give us a real award show, someone.
Kevin949 @ Oct 23rd 2009 11:09AM
What, you don't there are any games that can win the gold "dewtastic" award?
Geoff Keighley @ Oct 23rd 2009 11:29AM
The Mountain Dew award last year was given to World of Goo as best independent game -- which is actually one of the most important awards in the show, as it rewards unknown and emerging talent.
ZaxCG2 @ Oct 23rd 2009 2:07PM
Well that's nice and all, but really, when you're on a network television station you can't dwelve into more of that. It's all about the BIG GAMES, and MASS APPEAL. Problem is when you get into that MASS APPEAL, it leaves us discerning gamers annoyed. That's why I feel like I'm always better off stickin' to Gametrailers.com.
ZaxCG2 @ Oct 23rd 2009 2:08PM
Plus, Geoff, since you have BOTH a freaking iPhone and Blackberry, can I HAVE ONE?

Am I wrong or the first Uncharted 2 trailer was revealed at the vga?
It was awesome.
