PS3's Dragon Age: Origins back on track for Nov. 3

European PS3 owners, however, still need to hang on until "a bit later in November." Don't worry, that brief disappointment will make eventual platform parity feel like something amazing again!

I hope that means it'll be ready to rock and roll bug free style. Way excited for it :)
OLDMIKE @ Oct 23rd 2009 2:45PM
my bet is sony sent some men over to "help" them out
Geist @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:14PM
With bats. And declarations of "boy I sure would hate for this place to be torn apart by some random hooligans, wouldn't you?"
koehler83 @ Oct 23rd 2009 2:48PM
Totally not because of Assassin's Creed and Modern Warfare.
Jack Tretton @ Oct 23rd 2009 2:48PM
"To be specific, the PS3 version will no longer be the latest in showing up on store shelves..."
Couldn't you have been more specific? Not every post needs to contain some funny.
Ludwig Kietzmann @ Oct 23rd 2009 6:33PM
Sorry, Jack, but the info's all there in the very first line.
Jack Tretton @ Oct 23rd 2009 6:44PM
Good point, although Kotaku itself amps up the "funny" by a degree of "Is-this-really-necessary?" in every single post. It becomes quite exhausting to read that style of crap over and over. But I like Joystiq more, so it is upon them I bestow my constructive criticism. :D
Ludwig Kietzmann @ Oct 24th 2009 6:08AM
Thanks! We can't hope to improve without you guys.

...Tis merely a scratch!
Nobledevil @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:05PM
I'll still be getting the PC version (in the hopes that a modding community will be created that will keep new free content coming every once in a while), but it's very nice to see that Bioware stepped up, worked hard, and will be releasing all three version at the same time.
Discotheque @ Oct 23rd 2009 4:02PM
Of course the modding community will amp this thing up. I heard the toolkit Bioware sent out was very extensive.
Pantsparty @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:07PM
My comment change this massive companies decision.
Your welcome.
dmd @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:09PM
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! \o/
Great news!! Thanks a lot Bioware! =D
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:18PM
I never played Baldurs Gate and this might be my first foray into that type of experience. I've played and beaten Mass Effect, Kotor 1 & 2 and Jade Empire so I'm def down with Bioware ... just not really knowing what to expect with Dragon Age Origins.
Does this game have online or local co-op or are the additional characters in the party non playable?
Marcus70 @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:27PM
Dragon Age Origins is single player only. So it is a bit different than Baldur's Gate I & II on the consoles, which had 2 player offline co-op.
kentuckyfried @ Oct 23rd 2009 7:52PM
The funny thing is, I was going to get into something like this starting with "neverwinter nights" , but it never caught on with me at the time (the first 30 minutes killed me with its unforgivably slow pacing.
I'm hoping that this is much better; and from the rave reviews I've heard about past Baldur's Gate games (of which I've never played either), it should be good, as it's intended to be the spiritual successor to them.
iHavepants {SteamPSN: Arkanti} @ Oct 23rd 2009 11:03PM
If you're playing on a console as I'm assuming, the game plays more similarly to a hybrid between Mass Effect and KOTOR then Baldur's Gate. Here's a 20 minute preview of gameplay early in the 360 version http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-dragon-age-origins-360/17-1528/
catfish24 @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:20PM
Cool! I'm definitely thinking about picking up this game(only have a PS3), and the fact that it's coming out sooner than I thought is great. Also, thank you Bioware for putting in the extra work you probably did. It's much appreciated by many people.
RANDOM G [XBL: NYMZ777, PSN: NYMALICIOUS] @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:22PM
Make up your damn minds.
nriveraexpress @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:36PM
thats a good screen shot lol, "its just a flesh wound!"
Bernardo @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:59PM
I'm worried that because of this they won't be able to fix all the issues with the PS3 version. They did say they needed the extra time to fix things :/
bluem00se @ Oct 23rd 2009 3:59PM
YES! I Once again, Bioware exceeds my expectations! I was going to get the 360 version to get it earlier but now I'll surely be getting the PS3 version. Awesome news
Discotheque @ Oct 23rd 2009 4:18PM
Nice! Now PS3 owners will be faced with the dilemma of which is GOTY:
Uncharted 2 or Dragon Age Origins?
Because Dragon Age is gonna be so good too.
johnnynumber5 @ Oct 23rd 2009 5:00PM
Most PS3 owners have already made their minds up that Uncharted 2 is GOTY. There are also some Killzone 2 & Infamous stallwarts left over. If I had to guess I would say that more than like Dragon Age Origins won't even be in the conversation as it will be either UC2, MW2 or AC2.
Discotheque @ Oct 23rd 2009 9:37PM
If I had to guess, most gamers are morons then if they are seriously considering AC2 and MW2 as GOTY. Yeah GOTY in terms of sales only.
Let's also chalk up Transformers 2 as film of the year while we're at it.
iHavepants {SteamPSN: Arkanti} @ Oct 23rd 2009 11:34PM
How can you consider any game GOTY without yet having played all the games of that year?
Sly @ Oct 25th 2009 8:36PM
MW2 is gonna be a great game. don't knock it just cause it's a COD game.
Friend @ Oct 23rd 2009 4:28PM
Still delayed for PAL users? Guess it's still PC version for me.
I only play sports games @ Oct 23rd 2009 5:33PM
lol lame
saik @ Oct 25th 2009 12:01AM
I'm confused on how that's lame.
iHavepants {SteamPSN: Arkanti} @ Oct 25th 2009 1:23AM
Because he only plays sports games.
Emophia @ Oct 24th 2009 1:17PM
I'll probably still get it for my 360, you know for the Mass Effect 2 costume and the fact that it'll probably run better.
That and the fact that my PS3 has already gotten too much of my love recently between Uncharted 2 and 3 of my friends getting LPB.
Seriously, I;ve never laughed more in a game then in LPB's multiplayer with irl friends while talking to said friends on skype. I almost shit myself laughing yesterday.
My poor 360 hasn't been turned on in weeks.
saik @ Oct 25th 2009 12:01AM
What's LPB?
Little Penis Brigade?
Just kidding, or am I?
:)
David @ Nov 21st 2009 11:34AM
Well, that would explain all the laughing, Saik. :-p
