With all the resounding critical praise that Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2 has received thus far, it's good to see creative director Amy Hennig speaking up on the possibility of DLC for the game. "We're working on that now ... there will be DLC available before the end of the year," she told IndustryGamers today. Though she's not yet revealing very much on what exactly the content will entail, she did say it may include, "new maps, new characters, things like that ... some of it will be free of charge and some of it will be purchasable."
She wouldn't directly quote sales of the title thus far, but she did allow that the title is "exceeding expectations" and outselling the original game "by many, many times" -- a fact no doubt aided by the PlayStation 3's primary position among consoles on last month's NPDs. Hennig seems to embrace this head-on, referring to the confluence of events that lead to the current success of Uncharted 2 -- a hardware price drop, a handful of games being pushed back, and critical acclaim for the game -- as "serendipity." That doesn't mean the game ends in an expensive ice cream shop, right?

^ I actually did for a little bit. I still enjoy it as much as the first time I played it, still need to go back for some more trophies + treasures (for UC2 cash).
The controls, I know, are less refined, and the game can be pretty tough in some places. I just remember dying alot more than on UC2's "normal" mode.

Its a fantastic game, It is true really. I took four days to pass it, while I would play only for some hours every night, just passing the game calmly while admiring it, with my dad on the side watching me play it. He loved Unhcarted 1 for the story and because of the graphics, so he too was waiting for me to play it, and he stood by me every night religiously as if we were both seeing a movie. And in the end of the game, I was left craving for more, (the game is that good) but me and my father took a breather and hust sayed "wow" and "fuckin A"!!!
Awesome developers, fawesome games. And the fans are happy for a awesome job. Ain't Naughty Dog awesome? Here's my congrats for them.

Well I hope its the maps that are free. Even though I am willing to pay for decently priced maps I don't know if I want to this soon. I hope they spread out the release of new maps to every 3 months-ish or longer. I think that would be good.

Forget PS3...I'm curious how well/poorly the PSP Go did. I can't see how it will manage over time but I could be wrong....
Uncharted 2 should make the short list for game of the year. I'm loving it so far!

Uncharted 2- What a splendid game! Congrats to Naughty Dog! It's like 2 games in 1; when you get to 50% in single player it comes full circle and goes off in a different direction. This game and Ratchet and Clank will ensure the PS3's flying out the door this Xmas. Solid 10/10.

i really think that naughty dog should include some new weapons in the dlc. they could have the weapons from the single player that didn't make it into the multiplayer, like the crossbow. they also have the WW2 guns in the single player, and they could make a WW2-themed map pack that includes those weapons. they should also include some new boosters that can be used in the new maps. they could even make some crazy dlc that has some sci-fi or paranormal elements that breaks away from the traditional uncharted gameplay. cod5 did it with the Dir Riese map pack. i do think it would be pretty cool if nathan drake was in space, with low gravity, and could use lasers guns. o and before i forget, i think it would be really cool to have a survival co-op mode with the zombies from uncharted: drake's fortune.

The concept of DLC is fab. Eventually, outside of collector's willing to pay a premium for box art, DLC is cheaper and more convenient.

I just finished the game and all I can tell you is that it blew my mind!
Amazing game. Loved every second of it. GOTY in my book.
I doubt MW2 or Assassin's Creed 2 will be better.
