Tosh.0 giving 'N64 Kid' a second chance
72
It was with awkward trepidation that we first approached Comedy Central's Internet content-laden Tosh.0 -- working online all day can leave you feeling a bit strange when you find the same content in the TV box, ya know? But when we read over at GoNintendo that the exuberant comedian would be giving his famed "Web Redemption" treatment to the Internet's own "N64 kid," we couldn't help but get overexcited. We started pumping our fists in the air and shouting and ... well, you already know, don't you? The show will be airing this Thursday on Comedy Central, but check your local listings for the specifics.

I have watched season 1,2, and most of season 3 of heroes and I have to say the first season was amazing the second season was good and the third season has so far been a huge let down, Villains was really bad i don't know what they were thinking when they made it. Then Fugitives is alright but not nearly as good as season one which no matter what anyone says was amazing.
That ends my huge rant thankyou

That's cool, Bryson.
Now what the fuck does it have to do with anything?

If you think Tosh.0 is stupid you should see what else in on TV.

Heroes plot interested me the first season, but the writting has gotten terribly sloppy and filled with plot holes, plus random sections that make no sense in the Heroes universe. I still watch the show (mostly cause that and How I met your mother are the only shows my mother and I both watch and can talk about), but i dont really enjoy it.

One of my professors was discussing the lawsuit that came from the scene where Claire puts her hand in a garbage disposal in the first episode. He prefaced the story with, "back when Heroes was good..."
Yeah, Heroes sucks. After Lost finishes this year I don't know if I'll have anything worth Tivoing.

The Soup is waaay better than Tosh.0, and is the perfect antithesis of what's wrong with TV.

Heroes is so bad, but it's still entertaining, so I watch it. If Hulu goes to paid, or stopped showing Heroes, I'd never make the effort.

Both Heroes and Lost suck. Heroes sucked from day 1 basically. And Lost just went to shit after the first season. Such terrible writing.
As for this whole "web video show" thing I prefer Web Soup over Tosh.0

I don't remember being that excited to see my N64.
But then again, I'm an evil, cold-hearted machine. I enjoy killing kittens and delivering one-liners.

That was pretty much my exact reaction when I was given my NES for X-mas, especially because it had been wrapped in a way which made me think I wasn't getting one that year. I was in my 20's when I got my N64, but I remember having the adult version of this reaction when I got to the water level in Super Mario 64.

I miss that show. His weird and wacky way of doing the show was just awesome.
According to wikipedia, he seems to be doing lots of random podcasts and internet shows now.

All of his internet shows have been canned by a bunch of assholes. He used to have Infected, then Web Drifter, then Internet Superstar. People just don't appreciate greatness :(

Ahh, a fellow TechTV fan! Unscrewed was one of my favorites right before comcast destroyed the network with G4 crap.
On a side note though, even Unscrewed wasn't exactly original. TechTV (ZDTV at the time) had a previous internet variety show called "Internet Tonight" hosted by Scott Herriott from 1998-2001. The show was almost identical to Tosh.0 on several levels and was actually pretty decent. Unfortunately, Paul Allen got wind of the show and canned it shortly afterward.
Some elements of show later got merged into some of TechTV's other offerings, like The Screen Savers, when the network was in it's pre-G4 transition, with even Scott Herriott himself appearing in some episodes.

Yeah my reaction was probably similar when I got my NES for Christmas in '86. I got the Deluxe Set complete w/ R.O.B. the robot & Gyromite, Duck Hunt, the Zapper, & 2 controllers. I also got Excitebike along w/ my first tv: a 13" Goldstar. Yeah I don't think that brand is manufactured anymore. I was one happy kid!
One of my (several) cousins that had an NES also had Kung Fu. I remember him bringing it over to my house & me watching him play it. I always thought Mr. X was an awesome name for an end game boss. He would also get pissed when I would beat him @ Excitebike. He'd throw the controller on the floor & go outside to get his bike & ride to my grandma's house. Haha! Ah man that was amazing.
I think the following year my mom ordered Zelda for me from the JC Penny's catalog. It was quite a life changing experience to get that shiny gold cartridge & go around just throwing bombs everywhere trying to find caves. I recall in most "wooded" areas using the candle to try to burn every bush I could find.
I think at the time of the NES's lifespan, I had about 30-50 NES games. Sadly in the mid 90's I let my sister's (then) boyfriend's brother borrow most of my games. I never saw them again.
:-(
Back in '02 I traded my original NES, Zelda, & Nes Advantage joystick for $50 store credit towards purchasing the Game Cube at Gamestop. I don't regret purchasing the Game Cube, but I do regret trading my NES in.
Ah well...I have recollected a lot of stuff again. I have 3 NES systems now (due to flea market's, garage sales, craigslist) along w/ an Nes Advantage joystick & 2 Zappers. One of the NES systems I bought for $5 @ a flea market. It's in great shape too. I think I paid a total of $2 for the Advantage joystick, normal gamepad, the zapper, & an RF adapter. I also have about 40 NES games that I'm slowly working on adding to.

Fun Fact: Goldstar merged with Lucky, and became the company you know today as LG. I hear they make cellphones and dishwashers and stuff. =)

LG's a good brand. I'd also look at Sony or Sharp, if you don't mind the extra expense (though they can be part of some great deals)

Yeah my wife's cousin has an awesome 47" LG. It really is INSANE how much of a discount Best Buy employees get. Employees pay 5% above what BB pays for it. He bought that LG which normally goes for $1500...for only $500 after his discount.
It was nice when my wife worked @ BB a few years ago. At the time I needed a router. She got me a $50 router for like $16.
Of course generally there is no discount on games or gaming systems. ESPECIALLY systems. Stores don't really make money on them.

The thing to remember is that the panels are made by about three companies. S-LCD, the joint venture of Sony/Samsung, Sharp makes their own panels (Though Sony is planning on dumping Samsung and joining with Sharp next year), and the other companies all pretty much either buy Sharp panels or get them from the third company. It's all about the other hardware, like sound, scalars, and jacks.
