Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is pondering a spooky wardrobe

It took a great deal of deliberation for us to settle on our Halloween costume for this year, but we think we landed on a real winner: Every vampire ever. We'll adopt the rich accent of Bram Stoker's Dracula. The keen mathematical mind of Count Chocula. Alucard's penchant for the overdramatic. Edward Cullen's shiny, shiny skin. Spike's bipolarity. The entire cast of True Blood's impossible sensuality. Of course, a costume of this caliber would be way too difficult to pull off for one obvious reason: We're pretty terrible at math.

Has to be Penny Arcade. Little realized truths...

I know Griffin's pulling for PA this week, as well, judging by his comments on the podcast this week.

It's rare these days that PA is both funny and doesn't resort to foul language for a cheap joke.

Yeah, PA takes it easiy for me.

I realize that they're not the most popular around here, but I love Penny Arcade. I also love the blog entries that accompany the comics. I met the guys at the New York Comic Con and they were really nice.

Virtual Shackles got my vote.
Nerf Now was pretty good though.

Never heard of Virtual Shackles before, but that was damn funny, and scares the crap outta me about Demon Souls.

i think both PA UC2 comics were awesome, i am betting it was hard to choose between the two of them. either was the PA UC2 comics would have gotten my vote.

The problem with the enemy one is that it feels (at least t someone who never played uncharted) extremaly generic ... could be even a wolfenstein3d joke =P

It's not generic, in most games the justification for killing enemies is that they're shooting you. In Uncharted you can just throw a dude of a ledge without ever finding out whether he was actually hostile.

Also, a guy getting thrown of a cliff is infinitely more funny than a guy getting shot.

I thought Cheers was pretty funny... probably because I'm so upset about it. THE IRONY!

I thought it was very well done, perfect way to pull at the emotions.

the PA about autotweet would have done it for me.

Groundhog day did it for me instead.

Dipswitch used to be funny, but they haven't been very good the last couple of comics.

Ooh, PA or 2PStart...so tough...eh, gotta go with PA this week.

As a casual fan of Bleach, i can find great humor in Virtual Shackles. 2P Start was the other good one, but pretty much all of them had the issue of being "too inside," this week.

I see why you're drawing that conclusion, but VS's comic had nothing to do with Bleach.

PA for me. after i read that, i couldn't kill the enemies in the last chapter without thinking about that.

P.S. is it just me, or was the last boss insanely cheap?

P.S.S. i'm happy that they made the game worth replaying. playing through on hard as doughnut drake with a 1 hit kill, infinite ammo M32 grenade launcher is just too awesome.

He wasn't necessarily cheap, but he wasn't as much of a PITA as (SPOILER ALERT) Navarro was from Uncharted 1.

Better than Lucien from Fable II...

it's just that he had a double barreled shotgun that apparently had the range of an assault rifle and could reload within a second. not exactly what i would call fair.

I think they should add a perk for the ability to throw 3 grenades at once....that would be hot....

ugh, i forgot that he could do that too. but yeah, unlocking that perk at a really high level could be pretty cool.

Ouch, I thought they were all awful.

Not much of a stretch since all webcomics are horrible.

Digital Unrest.
Because it's so too damn soon, it's funny...

I just want to make it clear that I would have never made this comic if Falcon Heene had ever been in any real danger or if his family ever truly thought he was at risk. It was drawn after the evidence seemed to point towards a hoax.

I voted for Digital Unrest too, Balloon Fight is one of my all time faves.

Someone dares to use "Happy, happy, joy, joy" and defile it with another "joy"? That's it. They all fail.

Actually, there's three 'joys' at the end of the song. Listen to it again and put your fears to rest.

The comic still looks nothing like John Kricfalusi. They all fail.

Gotta be Penny Arcade, but 2P Start is a close second.

they did give away a tiny bit of the plot. the villain's name.

Spoilers?? they gave nothing away....Lazarevic's name....big whoop....its been all over the internet and in videos....if you go to the Naughty Dog website you will see him.......

Also, to the Virtual Shackles guys:
You use the wrong form of "hero" in the third panel. Should be "heroes" instead of "hero's" (the former being the pluralization of hero, and the latter being possesive or as a contraction of "hero is"...).
Sorry to be such a Grammar Nazi... just things like this bug me. Otherwise, it's a funny comic.
