If you've yet to acquire plans for this Halloween weekend to go along with your totally rad costume, Cryptic Studios has a pretty great diversion you may want to sign up for. Starting October 30, you'll be able to download Champions Online at no cost, and take on the mantle of the superhero of your own design until November 2.
The free-to-play weekend is being offered in an attempt to promote the title's first live update, Blood Moon. We expect that more than a handful of partially illiterate heroes will appear during the update's launch, and will be confused as to where all the sexy teenage vampires are located.

I could swear that Cryptic never canceled my account after I canceled. What i mean is, I don't get charged, but I can still log in. Probably my imagination.
Champions is fun for a little while, but I find it really hard to get a group simply because you don't need to be in one and that means you're just playing a single player game. Great controls and graphics though.

I suggest rewording the title... It's misleading. I take it McElroy isn't into the MMO scene?

Wow, I could have saved myself $50 if I had just waited. A free weekend would have been just enough time for me to decide that I never want to play it again.
One reason it sucks? When I played, I picked Super Jump as my travel power. When using Super Jump, I took fall damage. That blew my mind.

Omg these comments are hilarious. So this game isn't very good Gerick? Anyone else play it? I don't wanna sit on my PC and download this forever just to play a crappy game. Sorta like what happened when I heard of a certain "awesome" Second Life...sigh... piece of crap.. seriously everyone just sits on that game and begs for money and runs around nude... ugh.

Ok, I can see where this is going. Play for the weekend? I have a feeling that it will take that long just to download it. I do not see anywhere that you can download the content now prior to the actual play time. If that is the case, then I can see severs being bogged down...
