DuckTales? I would buy that in a heartbeat. The original NES game is a classic. I think I still have my cart around here somewhere.

I know it wasn't 8bit, but Aladdin was probably my favorite Disney game as a kid. I must have rented it like 30 times.

The problem with DuckTales is that Disney pretty much let the franchise die. So I can see why it would be a hard sell to them - I mean, the only audience for the thing are people who rightfully shouldn't be Disney's audience anymore to begin with :P (that is, not children) That being said, Kingdom Hearts sold to an older audience so who knows... If they actually did go through with it, I would totally be on board.

And yes, a remake of the NES title would be awesome. I doubt it will ever happen though - I'd think that would be harder to get off the ground than an original title with all the licensing issues...

It's kind of depressing how Disney let such a great franchise as DuckTales just die, granted, they let that happen most of their 80's/90's cartoons. I would give anything though to see a revival of the DuckTales franchise, one of the best things Disney ever did.

Yeah, the only reason they're willing to do this Epic Mickey thing is because they're trying to reboot Mickey altogether. It's not a vanity project, it's part of something bigger for 'em. That's why Mickey's new artistic design (and personae) are so critical. No reason to do Duck Tales, because they have no interest in the IP

For some reason, I kept thinking of Arlen Specter + Warren Buffet for some reason, not Warren Spector. I was thinking "What would a Senator want with Duck Tales" until I read the wikipedia page on Warren.

Disney corp heads have to be fucking morons to not take advantage of any of the disney afternoon TV shows as games.

Just like how they ignored putting them on DVD until the world started bitching at disney they gave in.

The Disney afternoon game series was some of disneys most popular things disney has done in games ever most of the video game audience today watched those shows, played the games.

And out of all of them new Ducktales is the one to do first.

and god where is my gummi bears action RPG the show was about fucking bouncing gummi bears with castles and knights and all that crap. how could you not make a good game out that? they did not even get a nes game

rescue rangers tale spin darkwing duck, all prime video game subjects I would buy game Warren Specter makes with disney afternoon stuff.

But no we get crap "high school musical" game on wii Not a new Ducktales, nice job disney! Now where can I tell them how much Disney don't know jack anymore and the public wants a ducktales game.

I just love the crap disney games they put out now Epic mickey is the only one I cared about since fucking mickey mania.

Here you go world the real reason we don't get ducktales all the money went into making crap like this not once but 3 times and If kids or parents like this crap to buy it then a asteroid should nuke the earth soon and stop humans from reproducing since we are evolving backwards and no longer deserve to live.

While this post was a jumbled mess, I got the gist that you are saying Disney never made games based on their TV shows? This is not true at all. There were Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin, and Rescue Rangers games... there are games for Disney's current shows like Kim Possible as well (granted these are developed by Disney's mostly terrible in-house studio so they suck). I'm not sure why you think they would start making games based on dead franchises...

The big problem with Disney these days, is that you really can't get them to break formula on anything. DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, etc could all be revived as much more dramatic versions of themselves, but then where would they put all the bright colors, bubblegum pop music and terrible singers turned voice actors? Can you imagine the horrors of Huey, Dewey and Louie as voiced by the Jonas brothers?!

Some things are better left in the past when their creators have outlived their usefulness...

Coincidentally, Rescue Rangers was a good NES game.

Capcom really cranked out the platforming hits in the NES era. Duck Tales was one of THE weekday afterschool cartoons I had to watch. I especially loved when they would do a storyline that stretched over a series & it was "To be continued".

I would get pissed if it was a rerun but would usually watch it anyways because it was that good. I enjoyed Rescue Rangers & Darkwing Duck also. I watched Talespin somewhat but Talespin was right @ the point where I stopped really watching cartoons as much. I do remember my younger cousin watching it a lot tho.

Duck Tales for NES was quite the amazing game. It's amazing the similarities between it & Mega Man. I remember buying it w/ my birthday money one summer & getting it home & being amazed @ how fun it was playing as Uncle Scrooge. Sadly after I had finished the game I let my sister's exboyfriend's little brother borrow most of my NES games (30 or more) & I never saw them again...including this gem.

I forget some of the levels, however the 2 that really stand out in my memory are the mines & the moon level.

It's too bad the NES and SNES/Genesis era Disney games will never be on the VC. Ducktales, Rescue rangers and the movie based games on the 16bit consoles would be well worth a purchase. Unfortunately I think that even if Nintendo wanted to do it that Disney wouldn't want to put old titles on the console.

Well, ANYTHING DuckTales would be better than NOTHING, thank you very much.

I loved playing the Game Boy version of this, PLEASE do a remake or something. I'd love to see Capcom & Disney cooperating again, they were an 8-bit & 16-bit licensed title powerhouse.

Heck, even a rerelease on Wii Virtual Console would be so much better than having to find certain things that are not to be mentioned which companies don't want you to know about.

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of daring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo

D-d-d-danger, watch behind you - there's a stranger out to find you
What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo!
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

When it seems they're headed for the final curtain
Bold deduction never fails, that's for certain
The worst of messes become successes!

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of daring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!
