I haven't bought Excitebike yet for the VC, so color me "excited" (heh...) for this version. Day one for me.

Minus 10 points for that pun.

Very disappointed!

I think for it to be a pun, the word should sound similar but mean something else.

What he did was the comedic equivalent of rhyming a word with itself.

Who cares about semantics? I think we should all just agree that excitebike is the shit.

no it didn't unless you wanted to keep a match record for your friends.

And this is excellent news, finally Nintendo is bringing their IPs to the 21st century!

This is what I've been hoping for.. Nintendo to update the classic versions of their games, instead of just the virtual console clones of the original. Enhanced graphics, multiplayer, new levels, etc. They would squeeze much more money out of my wallet for those.

I want the original zelda with upgraded graphics, new quests, a level editor that lets you share/download levels, etc. Nintendo would make a killing on that. I doubt they'll ever do it though. :(

Me only owning a single game on the NES meant I never managed to play this game, but I always got the impression it rather similar to Motocross Maniacs on the Game Boy. Now that game was awesome.

Also: did the original Excitebike have a level editor? - saving tracks and everything. That's amazing.

But saving was limited only to the Japanese Famicom. Sure would have been a nice feature on the NES, but that didn't stop me from playing around with it all the time.

You could create tracks but not save them. I believe that Zelda was first NES cart that had a battery backup. Excitebike was one of the first NES games I got w/ my NES Deluxe Set back in Christmas of '86. I loved creating so many ramps.

The "Programmable Series".

I find them hilarious at times, and way overly cheesy, which adds to the humor.

My favorite skit was the one for the terrible Nerf game for Wii, where the male show host was "training" the female host how to beat the final boss LMAO

A good job, I thought, of masking what was otherwise a very very horrible game.

They showed a bit of footage of the Nerf game and it did look like ass. The training part and the psychologist parts of the show were pretty funny IMO.

I like the "Rock n' roll, I'm sad." running gag that they keep doing! I know I shouldn't like the show but I'm tuning in every week now and have a mild interest in things like flipnote studio, touche Nintendo.

Though, I have to admit, I'm actually a little disappointed it's not headed to DSi Ware. The shop there is pretty sparse.

The new Excitebike looks great.

Let's hope that it has multiplayer on par with Brawl, meaning no friend codes required and an easy way to find people online that you have played with before.

Some people (and i don't mean this to sound insulting) haven't grasped the idea that friend codes have very, very rarely been *required* in the sense of "you need to enter friend codes to play online at all," while every single WiFi Connection game requires friend codes in the vein of playing with friends.

Ok, let me rephrase that.

I hope that it's multiplayer is as solid and stable as brawl with level sharing of the same caliber.

Add IN no need for friend codes and an easy way to find people you have played with before and it will be a win for Nintendo.

And you CAN play brawl online without knowing peoples friend codes. However you only have Basic and Team brawl available.

As people have already said here, Brawl only required Friend Codes to play with FRIENDS.

And I actually liked that a lot better. It never bothered me once to plug in Friends' codes just to play with them online, as long as I could join a random game without the use of those codes.

However, it did bother me how long those codes took to go through... I swear, an entire week of trying to get a code to go through on MKWii was annoying.

As long as they allow online friend vs. friend battles with custom tracks instead of the offline only stages of Brawl.

Also, "However you only have Laggy Brawl and Laggy Team Brawl available."

So this is the mystery game that IGN was talking about. Pretty awesome, though i kind of wish that, if they had to revive an NES classic, that it would have been Wrecking Crew.

Good to see Nintendo start using the Nintendo Channel to more of it's potential, though.

When my bro, sis & I were kids we figured out if you stared "through" the game Magic Eye-style the ramps inverted to become valleys.

It'd kinda fuck you up.
