"These games are at their best when Ryu is juggling a few enemies, not when he's buried in them."

Wrong. NG is all about the challenge and difficulty.

@Deuce
I have absolutely no ideal what game you were playing but from playing both games there is no AI difference. The PS3 enemies do not block any more than on the 360 version and playing on the harder difficult like Master Ninja is the same.

That's quite an incredible change in numbers... I'm not a fan. :-\

Funny, my 360 version's only hiccup was at the staircase and only "at times" not "all the time" like some are saying, go figure.

Calm down people. Does this impair your enjoyment? You wouldn't even notice these things minute details if it wasn't explicitly told to you.

Point. I have a 360 and PS3, and I was comparing the first level of the 360 version to the demo in the PS3 version, and without screen capture my short-term memory could not grasp the extra bumps in Ryu's armor (though I would have noticed the extreme reduction in enemy count during the Coliseum scene if I had bought NGS 2). However, I was able to notice the improved lighting, as it was certainly much brighter. That, and the PS3 version had less sporadic load times and smoother framerate.

By ultimate techniques (or Ulties) he means Level Two Charge Attacks (hold Y).

But yes, that's my point exactly. Sure you can experiment with the other weapons since they carry over (personally I love the Kurasi-gama, the ball and chain weapon), but unlike the first NG almost every weapon now has it's version of the Izuna Drop, because it IS so safe. Also, if you've watched any of the pro players runs (especially for the challenge missions), such as IberianWarrior or Bigalski, you can see them spamming these moves over and over again, and not only does it look like the best way, sometimes it seems like it's the ONLY way to win some of those.

I'm no stranger to challenge, or to the NG series. I've beaten Ninja Gaiden Black and Sigma on MNM (and all the MM), but to me, probably because of the high enemy count and over reliance on Obliteration techniques, NG 2 just wasn't as fun.

Oh, and uh...typo but in my first post I said, "...in Sigma 2..." what I meant was NG 2 for 360, not the PS3 version. Said problem should have been alleviated with the reduction in enemy count (I haven't bought it yet; when Toys 'R Us did their Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal I got Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend, and inFamous).

Highering the contrast does not change the fact the PS3 version has better "lighting" techniques and implementation thereof. Making it brighter does not make it more advanced.

You're crazy if you think highering the contrast on this:

Will make it look like this:

They both look equally unrealistic.

And please use "raising" in lieu of "hiring."

it's funny, I watched the videos and didn't notice a difference. Then I saw the screens and noticed the difference. This is why it doesn't matter people, unless it's Ghostbusters.

the game isn't even that pretty, everything looks like it's made of plastic and is mostly devoid of detail. Tecmo must have a rather gross engine or crappy set of engineers if they actually have to bother taking enemies off screen to get the game to run 720p proper.
