If you want to be extremely cheap you can easily beat the red eye knight in 1-1 by luring him to the spiral stairs on the opposite side of the catapults and get him to fall down the middle. Cheap, but it works. Although, if you can't beat the knight straight up by blocking and countering you'd be better off spending your time grinding for more soul levels and getting some better gear, because you won't stand a chance against what waits for you inside the mausoleum.

I didn't know about this mausoleum guy. On my 2nd trip through 1-1 I found the guy and he gave me the scope but I didn't know he gives a key if you kill him. I also just went back and killed the knight in 2 fireballs by kiting him through the hallway :P

The guy you get the key/scope from is Ostrava. If you keep saving him all the way through to almost the end of 1-4 he'll give you the key and a pure clearstone. At that point in the game you can open up the mausoleum and challenge old king doran. Do about 25% damage to him and he'll let you have the demonbrand sword. If you want his item drops keep attacking him, but he gets a lot tougher.

LocoRoco Midnight Carnival for me, although I already picked up Nostalgia for the DS, I guess the Gamestop I went to had it out early...I wouldn't really recommend it unless you're a diehard turn-based RPG fan. It's pretty juvenile.

Really excited for Gay tony, and I might give Forza 3 a rent, id buy it if i had the cash. Cant wait for L4D2 demo!

Just curious, how does a L4D demo work? Do you get to play half of one level? Or do they limit weapons or character choices or multiplayer connectivity or what?

no idea about this one, but in the first left 4 dead demo, i think it let you get all the way through the second chapter of No Mercy, and all weapons and characters were available

Luckily for me I picked up a leather jacket from the Gap this summer on clearance! Got a jacket that has an msrp of $299 for $80 at the outlet. My mom always told me buy winter clothes in the summer and summer clothes in the winter!

I thought it was worth it but you are entitled to your opinion... The turntable/case plus the two cd's was enough to win me over... I like the idea of a hard case in lieu of a cardboard box to lug the thing around in... They sold me on it... thanks for your 2 cents though...

Maybe Forza 3, maybe tekken 6 (360), and L4D2 demo for me. I need more hands on time with DJ Hero to decide on a purchase or not.

I'm going to use the Best Buy deal hwere you B2G1 and pick up Borderlands, Tekken 6 & Ratchet And Clank. However, I'm not going to keep all of them as I will exchange two of the game (probably borderlands and tekken but I'm not sure) for modern warfare 2 & assassins creed 2. Use them as basic placeholder games.

I don't particuarly want Borderlands so it's really going to be chooswing between R&C and Tekken 6. I'll wait to read some reviews, play demos and watch videos online to decide what works best for me.

I'm also getting the Loco Roco carnival game for my fiance ... she just adores those games and are really the only games that she actually beats from start to finish ... well those and Katamari.

Then why not buy some other terrible $60 game and use that as a placeholder instead of Borderlands?

Mainly because my brother picked it up for the 360 and he wants me to come over and play it with him. I hadn't been all that interested up until this point but maybe that will change once I get to play it.

He basically explained it as a co-op version of fallout that played like an MMO and had customization elements.

VERY LIMITED customization...

You just change the generic color of your character and the generic color of the car.

Quite disappointing for a customizer like me.


But the MMORPG elements of it are cool.
It's not as repetitive as MMOs, though - and sometimes that repetition is what makes those things so gosh darn replayable.
This is still replayable, but not AS replayable.

Still playing Fallout 3 GotY & Forza 3, with KH368/2d inbetween.. when one of the 360 games is done, I'll get Borderlands.. unless Dragonage happens first.. I'll wait on reviews for LBP-PSP after my disapointment with Gran Turismo Portable..

I wanted to buy Forza 3, but I just had to replace my earbuds. That cost me more than the game would have. Guess I'll save it for the slow times in December.

Holy Shovelware Batman!

Except for Ratchet & Clank Crack in Time, Tekken 6, Forza 3, and maybe Atelier Annie (I'm a sucker for those games), not much in quality games this week. Best Buy's buy 2 get 1 Free sale with those three sounds pretty sweet.

I can't believe Press Your Luck is being released -- I guess Joker's Wild or $100,000 Pyramid is next.

I don't understand why they sometimes only give out demos (and betas for that matter) too people who preorder. The whole point of a demo is to convince people to buy the game who are on the fence by letting them try it out. Preorders are bought by people who are already convinced.

The only thing this will do is maybe convince a select few to cancel their preorder because it doesn't live up to their expectations.
