Did you know that the God of War Collection features two God of War games: God of War and God of War II? Oh, you could tell from the box art? Well, did you know that the God of War Collection puts both God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-ray disc, remastered in 720p HD for PS3? Oh, so you've been following this game, huh?
While everything about the aptly titled re-release has been unsurprising thus far, we were caught off-guard by this tidbit revealed by the PlayStation.blog. The Kratos Kompilation has not one but two Platinum Trophies, one for each title. Trophy hunters need not worry about the difficulty of nabbing both Platinums: neither will require playing the game on the hardest difficulty. In fact, "Getting My Ass Kicked" encourages dying enough times to unlock Easy Mode.
The God of War Collection will ship to retailers on November 17th. Well, unless you live in Europe ...

Ahh...I see what you did there joystiq. So I am a "Trophy Hunter" and not a trophy whore...nice, I think I am gonna use that term from now on lol.
Anyways....getting the platinum for GOD 1 & 2 will mean so much more to me than 2 extra platinum trophies...I really enjoyed playing GOW games.

I guess, though I've seen some pathetic Trophies and Achievements so easy that there might as well be one for putting the disc in.

Well, GoW games have unlocks depending on your stats when you finish the game...so sure, if the trophy isn't enough for you, you also get a making of video or somesuch depending on how much ass you've kicked over the course of the game.

Achievements and Trophies have a point:
A gamer sees the challenge on the list and they say to themselves "I'd like to try that". Completing tasks on the developer's list of challenges, the gamer may find new and rewarding ways of enjoying the game they may not have discovered otherwise.
Although what trophy level you are or how massive your gamerscore is still conveys how important games really mean to you. That part is pointless.

Nice move Sony, planning to get this. I already have GoW1 & 2 but this collection includes higher res, higher fps, and trophy support for $40.

Well, I am glad to hear that. I found that the original God of War was bitchin' hard on it's hardest difficulty, and some of those challenge rooms were damn near impossible. Being a trophy whore this now renews my interest (Plus the games were stellar in their own right).

Hmm I think i disagree on this one, 2 platinums is great but you should be rewarded for doing it on the hardest difficulty.
Using Burnout as an example getting platinum wasn't that special since i only needed half the billboards and what not.

Has anyone checked out the trophy list? Its full of jokes and memes. Gold - "You Know the Germans Make Good Stuff..." is one.
This game is epic win. If Sony or other developers/publishers don't see that people are willing to pay for a HD remake, then fuck. They missed out on alot of money.

So wait...you get a Platinum Trophy (which if I recall is the highest "honor" in regards to game trophies) for playing bad enough for the game to feel bad for you?
...What?
This is about as bad as when crappy games give themselves easy achievements in the hopes of drumming up sales from the ePeen crowd.

Ah thanks for clearing that up. The Joystiq article as it's written now makes it sound like "Getting My Ass Kicked" is one of the two platinum trophies.
It's especially confusing when you consider the seque into that is how the Trophies won't be that hard to get.

You always get the Platinum trophy for collecting all other basic trophies (ie. no DLC trophies). As easy as that. No exceptions. Only retail games have Platinum trophies.

"Only retail games have Platinum trophies."
That is incorrect. At least Trine and Wipeout HD have platinum trophies (though Wipeout HD/Fury was released in retail too)

Why? The games werent hard on Normal difficulty, and there's no demanding trophies (except for the challenge modes ones, and the one where you cant receive any damage climbing the spike tower).

The games probably would have been easier if you weren't playing them with a flight stick.

The left joystick got stuck after mashing it with GoW 1&2. Now my player keeps moving forward. Anyway, it was a good reason to buy a DualShock 3. No problems with it so far after 1+ year of heavy use. Can't be happier :P

@ Carlos
I think the sixaxis controllers are just crappy made. Both of my original controllers broke after 1.5 years of use and now the left sticks drift.
I bought a dualshock 3 and I'm quite worried of breaking it too, but I hope it will last longer.

This is the type of fan service all of the companies should be doing, they should do this for all major releases on PS2, and the same with XBOX, re-release the game not just as an xbox original but with some achievements. Definitely will puchase this one.

Glad to hear that I won't have to be beating those on God mode for the platinums. Doing it the first time around was such a punishing process and one that I don't care to ever EVER do again. I'll stick to hard mode, the BEST way to experience GoW games. :)

I thought we already knew about dual Platinum trophies? Or was that just an idea they were tossing around for a while?
