God of War Collection coming in November, with two Platinum trophies

Did you know that the God of War Collection features two God of War games: God of War and God of War II? Oh, you could tell from the box art? Well, did you know that the God of War Collection puts both God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-ray disc, remastered in 720p HD for PS3? Oh, so you've been following this game, huh?

While everything about the aptly titled re-release has been unsurprising thus far, we were caught off-guard by this tidbit revealed by the PlayStation.blog. The Kratos Kompilation has not one but two Platinum Trophies, one for each title. Trophy hunters need not worry about the difficulty of nabbing both Platinums: neither will require playing the game on the hardest difficulty. In fact, "Getting My Ass Kicked" encourages dying enough times to unlock Easy Mode.

The God of War Collection will ship to retailers on November 17th. Well, unless you live in Europe ...

I still can't beat the zombie Kratos' on Hard difficulty.

Maybe its just me....but I don't care about my "PS3 TROPHIES" as much as XBOX LIVE ACHIEVEMENTS......

I think the reason for this is:
1) They aren't present in every game...and aren't really stressed by SONY as a feature
2) They don't have that BLOOP Sound that has ingrained itself in the heads of all gamers out there
3) Out of my 20 friends who own an XBOX 360....only 2 of them also own a PS3 but all of them own Wiis
4) Your Trophy Score isn't so closely associated with your PSN Gamer profile...in that it isn't displayed everywhere like the XBL Gamerscore is.
5) Considering that multi-platform titles on PS3 had a rocky start (delays, buggy versions, extra features not present) and the discrepancy in PS3 owning buddies......most of my multi-platform purchases are earmarked for the 360.

Maybe as more of my friends pickup PS3s (which is 50/50 as most of their wives/girlfriends I think draw the line at 2 systems)....it'll improve but I don't really see it.

they have a ding sound, which is just as good. i've got it stuck in my mind after uncharted 2.

uhhhh not all games have them...big deal...since when did GAMERS judge a game by its "achievements/trophies"?

They are the same damn thing for the most part.....3rd party games has nothing to do with anything as far as trophies go so where did that come from?

And we needed to know this vital info because..........

No, you got voted down for being a fanboy *yourself*, by making fabricated claims and stating facts that don't even back up your point. Let's see...

1) ALL games from January 1st 2009 will have mandatory trophy support. That is a lot of games. Sure, some big titles are missing (first Ratchet Clank, Resistance 1 and Metal Gear Solid), but a lot of other big games got patched (Uncharted 1, Grand Theft Auto 4, Fallout 3, etc...)

2) They have their own "bloop" sound. It has become ingrained in PS3 users heads, I assure you.

3) This doesn't even make sense. So you have more friends with 360's? What does that have to do with trophy interest? I have more friends with PS3s (and that number is growing). I realize you have said why they are not important to YOU, but they are important to millions of PS3 users out there. Instead of listing tons of troll-like reasons why you don't like PS3, you could have said nothing at all.

4) I don't understand this. Most anywhere your username is present, your score is too. It is on the PSN site and in the XMB. Where else do you want it?

5) Again, no one cares. This article isn't about why you like 360 over PS3. It is about a game getting trophy support. I really don't know why you bothered.

Easy platinums for both games; glad that you don't have to beat God of War 1 & 2 on God Mode just any difficulty.

yea I'm shocked at that too....like not even on "Spartan" just any regular ass mode....my guess is they didn't want to make them TOO hard.....I DO expect to see that trophy for GoW3 tho...

God of War 3 is bound to have a trophy for beating the game on the hardest difficulty.

Even if there is no trophy support, it is still a day-one purchase. Seriously all gamers loved God of War for being so simple to play yet ridiculously fun

well thats great news i but i hope that means that you will update the trophy section before the game comes out

I hope Ico and Shadow of the Colossus is next.

Easy platinum,only troublesome parts would be the challenge rooms that i never wanted to see ever again cause i almost broke the controller once.

This will be a first day buy, if I can tear myself from Uncharted 2 long enough!
I hope they give this HD makeover to MGS1, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater and put trophies in MGS4. I wouldn't go outside for like a year.
