I'm still not sure why people hate Gamestop: several retailers compete for video game sales. In order to gain an edge over the others and benefit the consumer, a bonus is offered to buy the game there. Asking for more than your word you'll buy it there, you have to put a down payment on the game. For major releases, EVERY retailer offers their own bonus (I.e. ghostbusters) so why single out Gamestop?
Would you rather no one offer a bonus? Then you the consumer get nothing... Who ever offers the best bonus gets more customers. Capitalism. Find something else to bitch about please

The only problem with your statement is GameStops are across the world... maybe not nearly as prevelant as walmart but there are proly 4000 more gamestops than best buys.... theres over 5000 in the US alone not to mention across the world

NO store HAS to sell a certain amount of used product a day. It makes sense to sell the used over the new because in the end for anyone who knows anything about capitalism is PROFIT. And as far as pre-orders go do you like being able to walk in and pick up that copy of a game on release day? Well it's the morons who don't preorder and just walk in that is the reason people have to pre-order. If 30 people want to buy Borderlands on release day but only 5 pre-ordered the game they only ship 10-15 copies to the store... so guess what 15-20 people have to drive around town looking for that game they want to buy.... seems dumb not to put 5 bucks that goes towards the game anyway down. I'd rather know I have 5 bucks ont he game and that I wont have to waste my day trying to find a copy of that game I KNOW I'm going to get.

Ok I work for gamestop, and I don't have any idea what stores you guys go to. But honestly, our job is to save people money, prevent them from buying games they don't want etc. sure, go to walmart and save what.. a whole 22 cents or whatever stupid price they sell their games at and have some red neck scum bag know nothing. or you can come to gamestop, preorder a game YOURE GOING TO BUY ANYWAYS. here's the kicker. idk how many people come in looking for a game like uncharted 2, or the last big one i remember, skate 2. (most recently borderlands). hey guess what? sorry man, we're sold out. if you know that you wanted it anyways, why didnt you put it aside! and yeah, used games are 5 dollars less. if you spend the ridiculously cheap 15 bucks for a freakin edge card that ends up being 10 bucks! that card saves so much money for everyone thats why we push it. i could care less about quotas, if it saves the customer money in the end, or benefits them. i let them know about it. another thing about used games, if you don't like it, bring it back in 7 days!! where else can you do that? you buy a game at walmart or best buy and you dont like it? that sucks. you're stuck with a game you don't want and can't do anything about it. yes i realize gamestop corp can be real greedy with some things but keep in mind they don't work in the stores.. if you find the right store then you can find some real good people such as ours that just want to save you money. id rather you save sixty bucks than have you buy a game that i know sucks because i played it. not that people listen to your opinion anyways before they come in 2 days later wanting to trade it in cause, just as i said, it sucks. but still. gamestop isn't as bad as you guys think. its a freakin bat man. it doesn't ruin the game experience without but hey, if you know you want it, preorder it and i think itll be a pretty sweet thing to have in the game. the demo comes out today for preordering ti at gamestop. ill tell you this. i can't wait to play it all week while the stubborn people just sit back waiting for it to come out for everyone else. but i dont care because im buying the game anyways and its not like it costs money to preorder. a lot of you guys need to relax and see every corporation has to push things such as preorders, or rewards cards or whatever. EVERYONE DOES THINGS LIKE THAT. i can't tell you how many times ive been pushed to sign up for rewards cards and such. now walmart pushed warranties through their electronics products. but you don't hear me complaining. if you don't want it, kindly say no. simple as that.

Incorrect dickey. I ordered it 3 weeks ago, went to go get it today and they said "Sorry we don't have it yet. It should be here sometime tomorrow." I ordered the PC version by the way that just came out yesterday. Nope they suck, done with them.

I have to agree with people that this is something that is just stupid. Not because I hate gamestop (I'm pretty indifferent towards them), but because 10 years ago stuff like this would have been accessed easily by going to a gamefaqs type site and looking for codes for free.

I hate GameStop because I own an independent game store that kicks the living shit out of them and I can't get ANY exclusives. I think I am gonna start counting these exclusives and for every one they get I'll open a better game store next to them. I have already knocked a quarter of million dollars in sales out of the one next to my first store and we are still growing exponentially. Please support the independents in your area. They are almost always gamers who actually give a shit about other gamers..

I was a bit upset about feeling left out in the cold with Left 4 Dead 1.

Then I played the demo and got to chop people in half with a sword, and bash in their heads with a guitar.
